making an echoplex out of a tape machine

ok. i heard that it was possible to make an echoplex like effect by adding a play head to a tape machine. does anyone know how to do this? please please please email me in private if you have any information on this.

You can use a tape deck of any kind(as long as it records)to do very simple ,but very good sounding delay,run signal into left channel then run left out into right in then right out into your mixer,put a tape in the recorder and hit record ,as you play through it,it will act as a delay,if you can change tape speed it will change the echo time,good sounding delay,works with reel to reels very well!!but will work with cassette also
