I finally figured out how to make this work.

I ran the guitar into one channel on the mixer, the mixer out into the mic input on the r2r and the guitar amp, and the preamp out from the r2r back into another channel on the mixer, and I got it to delay with repeats and everything. I'm psyched! It sounds really cool too. I just have a couple of gripes...

1) For my testing purposes I am using my (only) standalone mixer, a Mackie VLZ3-PRO 12-channel. This can't be my final option because it sucks so much tone out of my guitar that it kills the vibe completely. It works to get the point across, but isn't there some kind of passive summing mixer that I could use that would do the same thing, including the repeats (feedback) without sacrificing volume and tone?

2) Could I brew my own mixer?

If I could get something better and cheaper just for this purpose I would be super happy.
