I've decided to clean up a couple of very old projects. These were recorded and rough mixed before I had an external controller thus, the individual track pan and gain levels were done by drawing in envelopes. Now that I have an external controller, I would like to go back and re-touch the levels.

So, here's my problem...as I re-arm for automation and record, the Mackie MCU is fighting me and, the changes I attempt to envoke don't take meaning, the envelopes don't appear to be redrawn while I move my controller faders. What's up with this...do I need to delete all the envelopes and start from scratch?

Anyone?

Thanks.

As far as I know, you do have to delete the envelopes before recording new automation. Just right-click the envelope line and click "delete envelope" (assuming you didn't know that). Then you should be able to arm and automate whatever parameter you need.

Hope this helps.

I ran into the same prob myself. No quick fix....gotta dump your old envelopes to get the controller to automate it. Kinda sucks.

Hey thanks guys...that's what I was expecting to hear. I tried a couple tracks this morning and it seems to work. I was just hoping to hear that there was maybe a work around. I generally like the rough mixes but just wanted to put a little polish to them.

Oh well...now I've got more to do with all my free time :D
