ok, when I open Sonar and enable record and press the echo button to give me a stereo monitor while recording I get a chorus effect do to the Firewire's own control panel playing the Left Mono input signal through the headphones as well. I know I can avoid this by using the laptops soundcard to monitor, but the 410 has dual headphone outputs which is perfect for me to use when recording someone else so that we can EACH monitor at the same time. HOW can fix this so that I only hear Sonars output only and not the control panels?? thanks!

Sounds like you need to disable direct monitoring. I don't know anything about Sonar, but I do own the FW410. This should be under your sound card preferences in Sonar...somewhere.

no luck. I have tried everything and cant seem to get it to turn off. I can either listen to the M audio monitor feed in MONO or I can listen to that blended with a Stereo Monitor feed from Sonar.

Can anyone tell me how to stop the MONO feed from the firewire410 control panel but still be able to hear the Sonar Output in the 410s headphone jacks???
