As usual, I have to apologize because I know I've seen threads on this kind of thing but can't seem to find any pertinent to my problem.

I have the M-Audio Audiophile 2496. I've got my mixer output going into the 2 analog ins on the card. I can see the sound on the monitor mixer when I play a keyboard or whatever, but it's not making it to either the speakers or the input of Sonar. I have everything unmuted. Anyone seen this or have any ideas?...

I'm running it on a Win2k box with AMD 1.4 and ASUS A7M266 Motherboard. It previously worked on my old Pentium II 450 under Win98. I think i've tried all the usual common sense troubleshooting I can think of.

Thanks in advance for ANY ideas,
Ryan

It appears that there are two places for you to recheck: mixer/router of Audiophile, and setting of the Sonar.
I use Audiophile with Wavelab and I have to change router settings depending on whether I am monitoring, or recording, or playing a recorded file back.

Thanks webstop. I was flipping through Sonar Power yesterday, and I think there's a few things in Sonar I can check there for input monitoring etc... It's just confusing and frustrating. I'll post how it turns out.

Routing

You need to figure out the Patchbay/Router Tab of the M-Audio Control Panel. Under the H/W OUT 1/2 column, you can select where the output of the sound card will come from. If you want to hear what is plugged into the IN's of the card, in this case your mixer, select H/W IN 1/2. If you want to playback anything from your computer, ie wav files, select WAV Out 1/2. If you want to hear both, which is most likely, select Monitor Mixer.

sdallen24, Thanks for the input. I was able to get it working. I got the M-Audio Control Panel routed correctly, and then had to get Sonar's out setting correct, and then make sure that "sounds and multimedia" was using the Audiophile as the main sound card. I'm happy now! Thanks everyone for the help.
