Hello All,
Im having a little trouble with the above config. I finally got the mixer to send a signal to the 1010 for seperate ins into Sonar, but I get a delay on all of the lines from the mixer when Im monitoring in the control room. I downloaded the manual for the mixer and says that I should run the direct outs to the sound card, but I cannot get a signal with this setup. The only way I can cet a signal is when I run the 1010 ins from the inserts on the mixer. In other words, if anyone has any help for me, I would appreciate it. I mostly use digital console via Adat or Tdiff and this analog stuff is kicking my butt.

What I really want is to run my XLRs/1/4 inches to the mixer from the instruments / drums etc, then send the signal for each channel to the sound card to track everything in sonar using seperated inputs for each sonar channel.
Help

Thanks
Malcolm

The mixer manual isn't going to help - it's a monitoring issue between your s/w and the 1010. I don't know about Sonar (I use Cubase), but direct ASIO monitoring through the 1010 gives me no latency whatsoever - cubase basically controls the monitor mixer (Delta control panel) and does all the I/O on the 1010. You should run your monitor outs from 1 & 2 of the 1010, and then run the direct outs (1-8) of the 1604 to the 1010 ins. Unfortunately, you won't be able to do any actual "mixing" with the 1604, just 8 direct outs. Before I added external pre's, I ran direct outs 1-4 right into the 1010 1-4 and ran the 4 subs to the 1010 5-8. Best of both worlds when just starting out.

Do a search through your Sonar docs for info on monitoring...

Oh yea.... and make sure that the routing selection on the 1010 "patchbay" screen has "Monitor Mixer" selected for the 1&2 outs....
