I'll be there
Cool song, nice production. I dig the growly singing. Some of the singing near the end sounded kind of distant.
Well, then it wasn't working properly at that time... I've been on stealth for years.Khompewtur said:Newsflash for you and WAYTF, I KNOW about stealth mode and I DID see your name in the clinic.
Look man... you may wanna get all upset aboot this... but I'm not. I don't care. The point is... "everybody" (and I mean that in a non-scientific, susceptible-to-exceptions, type of way) knows that it's not a reliable system. That's the point. Sorry for using so much hyperbole... obviously it obfuscated the issue too much.Khompewtur said:Apparently you don't have the universal concensus you think you do. Did you even read Guernica's post? Maybe there is a self-viewing enlightened mature set in here who have decided they won't use them but that doesn't cover bbs members of all shapes and sizes. Where do you get off using this "WE" shit. I am a part of that "WE" and i DO RATE THREADS and obviously I am not the only one.
My argument, once agian, is not that nobody uses them. I use the stars sometimes. My point is that IT IS NOT A RELIABLE SYSTEM THAT CAN BE USED TO DETERMINE ANYTHING. If you set the slightest bit of weight in the number of stars your thread gets, then you are wasting your time.Khompewtur said:I cannot figure out what you're saying here. You're argument is that no one uses them and yet here are examples of 4 different types of posters (including dedicated serious regulars) using them for various reasons.
I feel they reflect nothing (for the reasons I stated in my first post). I fear you've entirely missed the point of my little rant. You see,... I don't care if you use stars. As I said, I use them myself sometimes. I don't care if it means something to you. It means something to me too. That's not the point. What I'm saying is, it is a totally worthless, meaningless system as a whole. So... when you leave a star... you may be thinking, "I like this song... I'll give it five stars". And that's great.... but the next person who stars it may be thinking, "I hate the guy who posted this song, so I'll give it one star"... and the next guy may be thinking, "This guy is my buddy, so I'll give him five stars." Which makes the total star count absolutely worthless. This, in turn, makes the ratings system irrelevant.Khompewtur said:Yes I already said I agree with this earlier in the thread, this feel likes some pre-packaged "newbie-rant". I feel that stars reflect more about bbs personality dynamics than they do about music production.
BECAUSE I DON'T CARE... AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER, BECAUSE IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL.Khompewtur said:IF THEY ARE SO USELESS I CALL ON YOU THE "WE" OF THIS FORUM TO START A CAMPAIGN TO DEACTIVATE THREAD RATING ON THIS PARTICULAR FORUM!!!
It is bean-counting... you're keeping track of who's been "naughty" and who's been "nice"... and I have no problem saying that that's petty and immature. I don't care if you EVER comment on one of my threads... if you post a song, I will listen to it with the same ears I listen to everybody else's stuff and I will comment with the same objectivity that I do for everyone else. There is no law stating that I have to give you a "hey... what's up" every time you post a song. Like I said, there are a billion reason why someone may or may not have posted on your thread. Getting all bent oat of shape over it is a waste of time.Khompewtur said:Ya really painted me with a nice immaturity brush there WAYTF. I kinda resent it. I don't require anything. It's not about bean-counting either. Every other regular i've seen on this forum has taken the courtesy to check in and say hello at least once which was very nice while Chris never acknowledged me publicly. We had a confrontation that precipitated from that and well basically he admitted that he had listened to my stuff and that he thought all of it sucked.
Well that's where we disagree. If you wanna stay pissed as chris just because he didn't give you a meaningless pat on the back every time you posted, then that's your bid-ness. But I have the right to disagree with that type of attitude, because it leads to petty arguments like these that get started over nothing.Khompewtur said:If chris thinks that everything I've devoted myself to is not even worth a "Keep workin hard!" review, then there SHOULD be bad blood between us and you should stay the fuck out of it.
I am not interested in making this personal. I was not upset when I wrote the rant. I would hope that the profuse use of smileys would have effectively conveyed that. I am also not looking for any type of "reaction"... so no "show" was expected.Guernica said:....Ive become the lone star advocate......![]()

....this is becoming a subject with posts that are boardering on becoming personal.... ...so im not gonna give you the show youre looking for watyf... Ive already pissed off one friend in here with this..... and i have no interest in a 5 page thread arguing this dead end subject with you.
....dont generalize..... who are YOU? ....we? I dont care what YOU decide to do....
....and ive been here for more than 5 minutes. .....although, with regards to confronting your rude-ass soapbox rebuttle, my attention span questionable.
And I completely agree with this! Just leaving a star may mean something to you... but it means nothing to the person who posted the thread, because for all he knows, the one-star bandit might have done it, or it may have been somebody who disliked him personally. Either way... who knows. My entire point about this is that if someone wants to make a meaningful statement about a thread by using the stars, then they should do exactly what you do... leave a star and then mention it your comments (or admit that you gave it one star and say why), because only leaving a star translates to absolutely nothing.Guernica said:....there is a very simple solution to this. "If" you decide to use stars... make yours accountable. If you one star someone, dont be a pussy..... tell em you did and why. I think folks will find that kind of criticism is respectable.. If you leave a 5....mention that too. ....a pat on the back by your peers is appreciated, and it sheds a little light on where "you" are coming from.
For someone who doesn't wanna make this personal, you're sure doin' a good job of it.Guernica said:blow me![]()

Khompewtur said:As far as everything you say about stars in your last post opposed to your earlier posts, I agree and I've already publicly stated such views.
Yeah... I caught it... but I wasn't making statements about the entire exchange... I was addressing specific parts.Khompewtur said:Maybe you didn't catch the whole exchange between us. I got irritated at Chris for ignoring me and engaging in bump antics, nothing irreparable.
You know... normally, I would totally agree with you... (no really.. I would.Khompewtur said:What really ticked me off was that after confronting him about it he:
- began cursing at me
- went to the cave and started threads denigrating me
- attacked my music
Well... if that were the case, I prolly wouldn't have said anything at all... but your very next statement disproves what you just said....Khompewtur said:If you can't see that there's an ESCALATION here and that it is not about the feedback then i don't want to discuss it with you anymore.
Apparently, a portion of the problem is just the lack of feedback. And that's where I still don't get it. I mean... dude... I thought you were a newbie, up until, like, a week ago.Khompewtur said:Finally.. stop with the bean counting. In my opinion if i see i am elbow to elbow with a guy over a few months manners urge "say hello". I sent out some feelers, got nothin but complete silence back. If you think that's irrational *shrug*
LOL... yes... the horse is most surely dead.Khompewtur said:Anyway, we've expressed our views to each other. If you don't feel things the way i do ... well the horse has been beaten sent to the knackers, turned into elmers, and is being spread onto the back of red construction paper by 2nd graders in Maryland making homemade valentines..
Actually... we have that in common. My "member" date is really old... (pretty darn near the beginning...) but I'm not that "old". I stumbled across this site back in 2000, before I really started doing anything with recording... I think I asked some extremely stupid newbie questions, and then pretty much didn't come back for a over a year or so. I've only been an "active" poster since 2001/2002-ish.Khompewtur said:Yeah i would say don't get too caught up on the newbie / regular thing. Even though my first clinic submission predates yours by 9 months I feel like a born-again newbie. I'm still just getting a feel for many of the regular personalities on this site after going into hibernation for a year and a half.
Funny thing aboot that is... I didn't even post a song for HRC#3.... and it was my freaking challenge...!!Khompewtur said:LOL I did some searching.. you haven't reviewed any of my songs since my reintroduction even my HRC#3 submission which was YOUR CHALLENGE!! hahaha! But you know the only reason i fixated on chris was because his posting style caught my attention, not because he didn't notice me. I never liked the feeling i was playing "bump wars" with him.
Don't sweat it man... that's why I kinda get on people's cases a bit when it comes to the whole "why didn't you post on my thread" thing... sometimes you just don't got nuthin' to say.Khompewtur said:In all fairness I searched for feedback from me on any of your threads from the past 3 months and I didn't find any except HRC#3. Now that i'm aware of you if I let another dozen pass by without trying to help you out, by all means chew me out if you feel the need. I did listen to Interrogating Angels a few months ago but i scanned the thread and i didn't weigh in, no excuses I often listen and don't comment usually when someone's already covered what I was going to say. I listened again just now and as i thought then it a very sweet song. Sweet vocals, finger picked guitar that reminds me of Extreme somewhat.
First, I totally know that you're kidding, WATYF, lol...and I tried to not look at this thread, but I'm weak...and since my new buddy Khomph seems to feel the need to mention my name in every other post in this fucker, let's see just how insane I am:WATYF said:
You know... normally, I would totally agree with you... (no really.. I would.) but this is chris we're talking aboot...
I mean... everyone knows he's insane.
WATYF
Note: I didn’t care, I added one myself. I call people assholes all the time. I tried to keep it lighthearted.chrisharris said:You guys rule. Even the asshole who keeps one-starring "Old Yeller," lol. HAVE YOU NO HEART?!?!?!
Naw, it's okay...I added one myself![]()
Note: Khomp basically says he’s negatively voting on an old thread of mine b/c I “annoy” him – never mentioned the tune. The internet equivalent of "fuck you."Khompewtur said:I one starred it. I dunno you are just starting to annoy me.
I STILL tried to blow it off – We all know how sick of me I am.chrisharris said:Dude, tell me about it.
Note: this comment is here for context, lol..Kramer said:Ding ding ding!I think we have our One Star Bandit ladies and gentlemen!![]()
......at least "one' of them.LMAO!
Note: this is where I got pissed. You wouldn’t??Khompewtur said:No i only one-starred Chris's thread. That's it.
With him hijacking this thread and taking down all the other ones that had negative comments in it, it just got to me. That or him bumping his own thread for the 8th time while 5 new ones go without responses.
Note: now I go for the “avoidance” tactic to try to end the personal shit.chrisharris said:You think I took down a thread b/c it had negative comment? You, sir...don't know me very well.
Let's keep it that way.
Smartass comment – Fuel for the fire, I guess.Khompewtur said:Oh im sorry Chris were you talking to me????
I listened to one tune a few weeks ago; it sucked. He’d already been told it sucked – I didn’t feel obligated to repeat it.chrisharris said:Yeah, I'm a pretty selfish guy around here. Most of my posts are in my own threads.
Oh, and as far as highjacking this thread, if you hadn't noticed, dumbass, it was ABOUT me... (hear Carly Simon in the background).
I listened to your music, btw. Couldn't think of anything constructive, and there was nothing nice to say...so.....keep being a dick!! I was gonna' care, but....nope.
I have no idea how the man knows the “real” me so well, lol, but this is just a fucking insult.Khompewtur said:Yeah baby!!! That's what i was hopin for Open hostility!!! Yeah man!! Let's do away with that fake-ass Chris that's always gladhanding people just to get a few more listens.
chrisharris said:Listen, cocksocket...I don't know what you think you know about me, but you obviously need some attention. I recommend hanging out in the cave. I'm all up for a flame war anytime with rectal-rooting knob-slobbers such as yourself, but not here. This place is (usually) about music. So get qualified, then get bent, then go to the Cave.
Hrm…what a selfish, shunning jackass you are for not commenting??Khompewtur said:I did listen to Interrogating Angels a few months ago but i scanned the thread and i didn't weigh in, no excuses I often listen and don't comment usually when someone's already covered what I was going to say.
posted by Chris You say you've posted 12 tunes in 2 months; are you recording all of these and asking for mix advice? or are you just throwing up "studio tunes" that were done 2 years ago to get some attention?
Khomph seems to feel the need to mention my name in every other post in this fucker, let's see just how insane I am:

This is COMPLETELY different from "not having time to comment on a thread, or not noticing a thread, a friendly understanding but we're on the same page. It really is no one else's business.
