Losing VST Connection (Bridge) - Need Advice

I have Artist 6 with the update (didn't update the beta). I use AD and love it. Since I got it, I'm noticing that on playbacks, I loose the connection to the drum tracks. They just go out. I don't get any window popups. Then, I close the project and reopen it to get my drums back. When I close it, I get a window saying the VST connection or bridge was lost. I have the latest update for AD and my interface (M-Audio FTP). What's causing this? How do I correct the problem?

I have another post out here on a static issue and I'm not sure if it's a related problem:

61 views (which I appreciate) and no responses? Please.... this is a pain in my backside!

On my PC, I will lose AD audio if I switch to my desktop. Not quite sure why, but it happens.

How do you mean "switch to your desktop?" Aren't you running it on the desktop to begin with? I researched and read something about jbridge... but it deals with 32 bit versions of AD. I have to verify if that's my issue. I just assumed I had 64 bit.

If I have Cubase open, and select the 'Desktop' icon on the bottom right (W7), AD will not export audio. It is just a weird thing. AD, as far as I know, has a 64-bit version, tho.......

That actually brings up a question or two I would like to ask you. You are running 64-bit W7 right? Why are you using 64-bit Cubase? Unless you are trying to address a buttload of ram for virtual instruments, you are better off running Cubase at 32-bit. No need for jbridge, or stupid incompatibility with 32-bit plugs. Your PC is capable of running seamlessly with 32-bit Cubase. I have never had a loss of signal, nor a crash while running 60 track+projects, with a full mix of vst effects (I'm kind of a plugin whore), 3 instances of AD, and low enough latency to record new tracks while monitoring through Cubase.

You have pretty much the same PC as I, as far as I know. It does not seem that you should be having problems.

Yes, I use W7 64bit and yes, I have Cubase 6 64bit. AD actually comes 32bit. I use the VST amp rack on at least two tracks per recording and I use a lot of effects on the inserts; some on the sends. Does that necessitate C6 64 bit?

I spoke to AD/XLN and they have a dll for 64bit (beta) which I dropped in my Steinberg 64bit folder. We'll see how that works.

Can I switch to C6 32bit without doing a reinstall?

I think I see what you're saying on the desktop issue. Essentially, if you simply go to the bottom right and click just to view your desktop, you're losing AD. Yes, that is wierd. I don't think I have done that while in C6.

That would equate to about 10% of what I use on a typical project, so no, 32bit would be more efficient for you IMO.
