Not out yet but could come in handy if
it's got some bass pickup and is not
too harsh. Nice that it doesn't require
phantom and is supposed to be quiet.
Not many other battery-powered
cardioids around, when you think about
it. And it's black -- about time they
get away from the silver.

Hmmmmmmmm.....That looks a LOT like a C-1000.

The NT3 does have its good points to it but
it is a little light on the bass pickup and also
can tend to be a bit harsh. My main
concern is that the M3 will be an NT3
with a cardioid pattern. I'm hoping that
the M3 would be more like an NT5.

Because we're all dying to know if it sounds as beautifully fizzy and harsh as the c1000's that they look so much like, down to the vent holes. They aren't making their mics in China now are they?

Well, I'm hoping it sounds like a KM84 - keeping my
fingers crossed.

That is a joke right?

Yeah, but I'm hoping it sounds at least okay.

I could really use a battery-powered cardioid
for field recordings with a minidisc.

Well if they pass on the cheap ass parts and chinese diaphram you should be ok, you'd honestly probably be ok with the c1000's for live work. I've used them and while there may be better options they are certainly usable.
