If you are going to be gigging, then stay away from the VOX ADxx amps. They are NOT built to withstand the rigors of travel. They are great for home only or studio only use. The Peavey will hold up MUCH better......

Yeah, I've been gigging with a Vox AD50VT for a while now and it's holding up great. I make a point of keeping good care of my equipment. The amp itself isn't mine, so I've thought about buying one for myself, I love the sound.
That's the key, you have to pamper it with kid gloves. We are not talking about plywood here.... if you pamper it and make it hold up by treating it like its made of thin glass, you will get good sound out of it for a long time.
Best value for the $$ is the Pignose GV40. Comes w/ a 10" but 40W will drive a 4-12" cab no problem. Very sweet clean to extremly nasty at hi gain. Pick up with 2 fingers. easily modded to take a 12" scorpion. Used for $200.00

Just picked up one of those palomino 16's as well (tryed it based on stuff i read on here) . I don't know anything about anything as far as guitar amps go but I started tracking a song an hour ago with it to test it out. Never heard anyone talk about it's "heavier" qualities so of course thats what I start with. Don't usually post clips cause i don't want anyone to think badly of a product cause of my taste/lack of skill. But anyway heres a small clip of it with the gain cranked. Loud mp3 so be careful.
