Hey Philly....

You aren't reading your own thread very carefully.... I mentioned the proto-j already!!!!

I'd avoid the RA-100 amp though....

oops, sorry about that, thanks big blue bear. I believe I'm leaning a little towards the event 20/20. I want a decent monitor that won't have me thinking about upgrading in the immediate future. The 8 inch woofer should give me some low end to where i should have to worry about purchasing a sub anytime soon. It says the monitors are direct field (is there a difference between that and near-field?). Only problem is once again, I won't have a chance to audition them (not in area), but I get a 30-day return on them just in case, so there's no loss. SPINSTERWUN if you're out there, or anyone else has a pair of these, please let me know what you think of them. Until then guys, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Like I said before, you will get a great bang for your buck. :)

peace out...

phillymac,
Check if you have Guitar Center somewhere close - you can audition Events 20/20, as well as Haflers overthere.
Blue Bear Sound,
Why are suggesting to stay away from RA100? Could you give some reasoning please? I know several people who are happily using it. Besides, the monitors demo room at Mars is powered by RA100s.

Yo PhillyMacDonald:]

Methinks that many posts on this subject are from monitor people who work for monitor companies.

Whatever your ears like will fit your wallet.

I don't sell Yorkville products; however, I think they are quality.
