Loads of in/outs ;)

I was looking for an ada8200 to get more routing options for my gear.

When someone offered both the UMC 1820 and ada8200 i could not resist.

It's a bit insane seeing 72 channels (x32 and 2x UMC and 1x ada8200) but the routing is very nice.

Some of the units i have now hardwired to the audio interfaces instead of the patch panels and the gear i would like to be a bit more flexible with are still running via the patch panel but now have dedicated in/outputs on the audio interfaces

In logic edited the IO labels which makes connecting a lot easier.

How do you solve connecting the gear ? IMG_6845.webp

72 channels, that is a bit on the insane side. It's good to see that you labeled the patch bay!!! After a while all those jacks look the same.

I remember when a big setup was 8 channels. Somewhere I have a picture of my buddy's rig with his new Tascam Model 5 and 80-8 tape deck. We thought that was hot stuff. That was just a mere 50 years ago!

I started with a 4 track ;)
And 8 in the studio with one reverb unit.

I use the x32 with logic as console so only outputs
With the rack gear you run out of IO pretty fast especially when you don't want to patch every time;)

Now it's all connected on dedicated in/outs it's overkill for a hobby studio but too much fun ;)
