a spoonfull weighs a ton
justanote: juston justsucks i can't even log in half the time! so I moved to idrive.
The tune is from "emerald city"- it's a semi-structured jam that we just LOVE to drag out forever- it's truly the band at it's wierdest and wildest.
www.idrive.com
my user name is JamusHE (apparently there is another JamesHE- pretty wierd) the file is in the Homefolder and also in shared files (not sure why that happened- if one is screwed up try the other)
This was recorded LIVE in "The Stomach" (what we call our rehersal/recording space)
on TASCAM 424
(if anyone wants to read this...)
For Drums: RODENT1 overhead into Art MP line 5 of TASCAM; SM-57 kick into channel 1 of my "other" fourtrack then into BBE then dbx 226xl and into channel 1 of the TASCAM; Sm-57 snare, ATM 41-HE 22" gong bass drum, Cad-22 in the general vicinity of the Timbales and roto toms (I have concluded this was a bad idea) into the other channels of the "other" then into the dbx and into channel two of the four track. all of this was bussed left and recorded onto track 1.
Guitar: (you mic freaks might not believe this) direct from the recording out of my Mesa DC-3 -Track 3.
Bass: direct from GK bass head into track 4
(Col_Forbin's amp has a wierd problem which causes those crackling noises- it's not your speakers- sometimes they sound cool on this recording)
I mixed this onto Cakewalk guitar Tracks which unfortunatly dosen't have a compressor plug in which this mix sorely needs. (Any body know of a free plugin or a cheap shareware compressor that is good and easy to use? I'm new with this plug-in stuff and I don't know what I need)
Thanks
