Line 6 Amps

...nothing raises the neck hairs like good 'ol marshall valves heating up...

I have a POD Pro. However 3 months after I bought it something went wrong. Anyway, it still plays but not like it used to. Also the PODs are notorious for being noisy. I am not sure if the amps have the same charecteristics too.

I recently moved from an apartment to a house and now I can play music loud. So I am looking for an amp. I am still planning to get a line6 amp for recording through mic. I am not sure if to get some general amp and play my POD through it, or get a line6 AMP.
Your statements seems encouraging....

Before I bought the Spyder 212, I had borrowed a friend's POD and played it through my keyboard amp with so-so results (could have had much to do with the amp).

Line 6 pushes the fact that the Spyder's models are tuned to the speakers (specially designed Celestions) and the cabinet for a very cohesive sound, which I agree with 100%. If ultimate flexibility was most important to me, I probably would gone the Pod/clean amp route, but I chose tonal quality and ease of use and went with the Spyder.

I use the line 6 pro modeler with the floor board. I do use it in my studio but I use it mostly for gigs and jamming, I like it a lot it takes the burden off of having to use tones of floor petels and stuff.
In the studio I use it miced more then direct but my marshall gets
used more then any of my amps by the groups that record at my studio. and I will also say my gear in general gets used more
then the groups that record. when they try one of my guitars with
the amp that I feel fits there style more then not my gear gets used. Love that line 6!!

I have owned both the Flextone 2x12 & the Flextone II 1x12. I have been very happy with them. Although they dont have quite the same presence as a nice tube amp at high levels, they more than do the job and make up for it tenfold in versatility. I usually mic mine for live gigs. Best thing is I got to throw away all my stompboxes. You get all kinds of control from the floorboard. I prefer the 1x12 version to the 2x12.

Anytime I see a band playing and the guitarist's tone just isn't cutting through the mix I bet my friends that he is playing a Line6 amp. I haven't lost the bet yet.

I'd play through a little Fender Blues Jr before any modelling amp.

I used to think the same thing before the Spyder - now I just think that about Carvin amps.

I've seen a lot of crappy players who buy Line 6 products and think it'll somehow make their playing sound better, which it obviously won't do. But it's still the best sounding amp I've owned and it sounds pretty damn good - Lenny Kravitz and Jeff Beck seem to think so.

Any of you guys got recordings that feature or include the use of your Line6's? I'm kinda in the market for something new too.

Yup Ive got a line6 ax2 but I use the pod xt for recording.
