hmmmmmm,
it may be a cubase/core 2 issue. as i said in an earlier post nuendo won't even work with the core 2, and to my understanding(i may be way off here) nuendo is basically a suped up version of cubase. compatibility issues are SO frustrating. i'll try and mess with some cubase stuff tonight and see what happens.

also, you've probably done this but with the multitracking issue, make sure you open the lexpanel and turn on all inputs...i've forgotten once or twice.

Been there, done that...

Hi guys,
just thought I'd put my 2 cents in on the Core 2 & the FX card (I use both) - I've come to the conclusion that it simply works for some & not for others. The most stable machines for it are P2 & above, though some have gotten it to work on an AMD machine - with the newer chipsets that's a good possibility. The most common complaints are the drivers & clicks in audio. The drivers do suck indeed. They work in Windows up to ME, but that's as far as they go.
I've worked around the clicks & pops issues by recording in RAM mode in Samplitude 6.0 - I'm able to record directly to RAM and AFTER the track is done it's written to disk - no pops whatsoever - very cool, as I fought with pops and clicks for about a year. Samplitude gives a lot of buffer options whereas a lot of progs don't.
Also, fimpin, I think that in Cubase you'd be recording via ASIO drivers, right? I never had luck that way - I always had pops and clicks. I record MMIO in Samp.

GAG, I'd say you're taking chances on this card - may work for you, may not. It sounds good when it does what it's supposed to.:D

Oh, and the effects are pretty usable - I have plug-ins that sound better, but the Lexi doesn't use any CPU.

PS I'm considering selling mine in favor of a Terratec.

thanks Jitter I do have a AMD K6-2w and I emailed lexicon they said there is a patch for it and said that its worked for some but they can't guarantee anything interesting eh? Anyways whats the story on algorithyms and are the lex daughter board effects comparable to the real outboard units? Thanks again you guys this is a great site eh? Oh yeah I use cakewalk 9 will lex like it ? ....Cheers Gag

gag, i use cakewalk 9 and now that i've gotten the driver issues sorted out(for now) it works fine. i might upgrade to WINME tonight though...98 MUST DIE!! :)
so that means opening up a whole new can o' worms with the drivers...i'll let ya know what happens.

GAG:
I also use a K6-2 (500) chip. The patch is a MUST. Install it immediately after installing the drivers or you'll get a core32.vxd error & windows will refuse to load.
There is an issue in Cakewalk 9 concerning the wavepipe acceleration, it has to be disabled according to the manual. I'm not sure if Cakewalk has a patch for this, but I know lex doesn't.
The mp100 daughter board is essentially the same as the mpx100 outboard unit, Lexicon's low budget entry unit.

How much are those cards? If they are over $300 you can get great results a lot easier these days.

They were going for about $169 on closeout - I paid a bit more for mine a little over a year 1/2 ago.

actually tex, you can get them on ebay for about a hundred bucks. not sure how much they are retail...if anyone even still has them retail.

How does the Core2 compare to Lynx One?

Have any of you used the Lynx One? I like the idea of having XLR ins, since I'm not using a mike pre. And I suppose I could use a direct box for guitar. Any thoughts?
