Dude! I missed your recordings :)

I don't typically care much for the more folky genre, but I really like your stuff, and I'll say what I have before, you got something special and I want to push you forward!!

(I really thought you got signed and were no longer cool enough to hang here :p, no, really, that's what I thought!!)

This one's still rough, but I like the simple harmonies and the "downtown" at the end, but the actually ending may need a little polishing... not one for form, but it really doesn't jive with the rest of the tune... maybe a slow fade and lose the dense echo/reverb on the last vocal part??

I dunno, just trying to help. Welcome back!

looks like yer famous dooood.

If all the songs here are this cool, I'm stayin'...FIRST POST TO YOU

hey dude...nice to see a post from you. You couldn't find any wackos in NY to back you up in a band!!:D
:)

I live in New York, you could have called me! :D

hey Erland, as usual, a pretty happy and pleasant tune.. Hope you liked New York..

You will not find better pizza or marijuana anywhere in the U.S. :)

be cool!

Another winner!!

This guys stuff has always amazed me. Just him and an acoustic and thats it!!! Never a throwaway line in his lyrics. It has been way too long since we have had something from Erland but it was worth the wait. If this was me I would consider it an unfinished tune, but in Erland's hands I couldnt imagine adding anything else that might interfere with those lyrics.

Beautiful
Mike

I've been away, but very glad to be back here again. And what do I find on my return? A new one from Erland. Welcome back man. Can't wait to here it. Unfortunately, the link's not working at the moment. I'll try again later. I'm gonna be pissed if I miss this one!

Twist

weird sound on the vox... distorted and hyped...
Good songwriting, playing and singing.

Not much to say really.. good job..

woh... that kicked ass. I'm JR#97, by the way.. nice to meet ya... I'm now your biggest fan.. be afraid... very afraid...

Only a few things to mention.. the vocals were pretty loud and a bit sibilent. It didnt' sound like sibilence from tracking, but probably from either compression or eq or a combo of both.

The dry bongo/conga hits were a bit awkward in the rhythem for me, but I loved the reverbed/panned hits. And I loved the fade out with reverb. Excellent effect. This is going into my heavy rotation.

great to be back

:o

Thanks ever so much for the encouraging return, you chaps sure know how to make me feel welcome. Just outstanding! x

How can I reply to this? from the top

Man, Its going to take me ages to check out all these songs that have been posted! cool

Fed - Fed Hi! I was more excited to read this than opening my exam results! you liked the song, great. It is the first opportunity I have had to record and as usual it was not what I wanted to record but hey...LOL Man I scoured the house looking for anything I could use as a shaker, in the end I never added the bag of sugar. I think its time to visit a music shop. cheers

King Elvis - great to see you too. Awsome that you should be working and not surfin the homerecording net. Mike you always say the nicest things. thankyou

TripleM - yeh there are loads of sound quality problems going on but thats great that you liked it anyway. Thanks for checking out those little added things. Makes me happy knowing they were worthit. The mic is a Shure 606. I`m looking faward to checking out your stuff.

mkg - cool. I tryed to build it up but I think I left it too late. Thats a great comment though. thanks Mark.

WATYF - LOL, thats just brilliant mate. Thanks. I was in NY last september. I was supposed to go back this summer but had to graduate. I have been working 17 hours a day in the very North of Scotland. I have to pay for next terms tuition fees and so am raising the funds. I get what your saying, makes perfect senses as usual. Cheers for that. I`ll be searhing for your songs man. Talk to you soon

wes480 - hi there. Yeh I kindof think I should have started the percussion earlier to hook it better. I would love to know what you would like me to attempt. Just for fun. Thanks ever so much for the encourageing words again.

participant - no thanks for listening. It makes it all worthwhile knowing someone on the otherside of the world is enjoying a wee tune. Cheers. I don`t have the best equipment I suppose but am trying to make it sound as good as possible. You said the single most exciting thing you could. Very wierd to hear. thankyou

SLuiCe - alrightee. Iw as in the US last summer but my gosh it treated me well allright! your so nice. looking faward to checking out your songs.

muzeman - Pete hi! great to hear from you and with those word you really know how to make my face blush. I used yours for the guitar ;) I was supposed to be in the states but had to graduate in person so have been working all day and night to raise money for tuition fees. I am way up North in Scotland. Yeh that was the back of the guitar and I lowered the strings for a bass. I am glad you liked the titbits. Take care and thanks.

:( got to get offline, shouts my brother!

There are a few artists that make me celebrate every time they release a new CD. I'll listen to them 'till I die. I'm hoping you live a very long time because you are on that exclusive list. Its really good to have you back! You are the master of making something simple seem like more than the sum of the parts. Great new song. Keep 'em coming!

Too bad,I was hoping you were still in NY.
The wife and I are going over tommorrow, was hoping to meet with you.

Thought mabey you were running in the marathon!:D
Well mabey next time around.:)

Good luck with school,take care.

Best to you,
Pete

I didn't read nuffin...

whoever you are, you're song (and the present performance thereof) is great. Don't let anybody here screw it up.

I've been around here a little while, but this is the first Erland tune I've heard, and you've got some REAL skills. I listen to it in the car now, and I'd be glad to pay for it - maybe even cover it with my bar band (if you'd permit, of course). It's almost like a cross between Beck's acoustic stuff and Dave Mattews, but you've got your own style & character. Vocals are chock full of life.

Stick around, man - glad to meet you :)

Well.. if you insist on listening to my crap... :p then I'll save you the search... here's my NWR site. I don't think you've heard "Tell Her"... most people seemed to like that one, but "Breathe" didn't go over quite so well. I didn't play any of the parts on it.. I just did the recording. (so that's my excuse... :D)

By the by... I've listened to the song a few (read "millions") more times and now the verse is growing on me... I think you could sing the dictionary and we'd all like it... :D

P.S. Tell your brother to shut his big fat cakehole!!!! :p We haven't seen you in months... so he'll just have to wait!

WATYF

by the way... did you purposefully tune your guitar to 430 or was it just "ear" tuned? :D It took me a while to match your tuning just so I could play along... :p

WATYF

Great! Reminds me of the old country! When you do the slight shouts at the end I though I detected a slight New York tough guy accent?! j/k...............Very good-I've enjoyed all your tunes. Say hello to Washington Square for me................

boydrj - cool. changed your mind. very pleased you liked it and thanks for the good vibes.

Kramer - good idea with the strings. I`m not a fan of synth stuff though but I would love to add strings one day. I`ve heard some great sounds on this forum though. No one has told me how to get them. I have fruity loop demo on the computer, but I would need samples. Thanks Kramer

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I am guessing you did come to the US, cheers!!

Good to hear from you again!! I liked the tapping on the ...guitar? Maybe you can try to hold a peice of toiletpaper or thin fabric in between the mic and your mouth when you sing next time.

It's not the most exciting song of yours, but it definitely is a good variety to hear from you. Good job!!! :)
