I posted a message earler asking folks to evaluate a country mix. I got one response. Although I understand everyone does not like country music, I believed the whole idea for this forum is honest feedback.. I got one feedback and response. I looked at other posts concerning different genre music, and numerous feedback was given. If I am at the wrong place, or have the wrong idea about the purpose of this forum, please let me know. Honestly, I am not intending to be sarcastic, I know it may come across as such, but I need a support group who can help me. Let's Work Together!!

:)

Hi, Michael!

I´m listening your song ("keep him out...") but in headphones, I don´t have the internet connection in my mixing room...

EXCELLENT!

That´s what I have to say.
ahhh...And I love country music (maybe I was born in the wrong country):D

Congrats, one more time.

Your other post is on page three after 5 days - that's part of the problem: lots of "unknown to the forum" people dropping tracks after very little activity within the forum or BBS on their own part.
Then there's having the stuff on Mspace - that's a turn off too as LOTS of people droop a link just to get HITS on their Mspace counters.
Add to that the fact that they're old tracks - not current and a few folk will wonder why they should bother.
Then there's the time of day/time zone factor - it's an international forum but many regulars are on the American continent.
I'm not implying that you're any or all of the above, just that there are multiple factors at play - I've had tracks up that, despite being reasonably regular, have only attracted 3 responses.
Record something newer or remix something from your older stuff, get a soundclick or similar account sorted for better sound quality, get active within the forum and she'll be apples.
I have no bias against country but, due to the plethora of posts of late, I have been more selective in who I listen to - you slipped by I'm afraid. Nothing personal, sarcastic or arrogant involved.
Now, I've checked out your forum involvement - you've not offered comment, feedback or criticism of anyone's work in the mixing clinic to date so it follows that no one really knows/knows of you. Reap what ye sow I think is the appropriate minimalist phrase. I hung around, read a lot, began to comment then critique and finally offered something when I felt I'd established some sort of rapport and had a feel for the tone of the regular correspondents - I'm old fashioned I know.
You need to take in your own lead line: "let's work together" you don't lead with "what can you do for me?" though that is the tone as you finish.

Rayc pretty well summarized it for me as well.

I only have time to actually listen to one or two songs from the clinic per day.* As such, I'll try to pick out one or two songs that really look interesting. Unfortunately, country does not fall into that category. Sorry. :(

I get a daily digest of posts from this forum, so time-of-post doesn't actually affect me, but I do automatically ignore all myspace links (not allowed at work.)

*I suppose I couldn't listen to them all, but I wouldn't be listening critically; they'd just be background noise while I work.

A few people post country tunes here and get responses. JPW being one of them. Hell, I play in a country/rock cover band and got quite a few responses when I posted a few tunes we recorded.

Let me ask you this: How many tunes have YOU commented on????? Actually, I'll answer that for you. ZERO. You have 54 posts in about 5 years and not one of them has been in the MP3 CLINIC, other than to post your song.

So maybe instead of whining about not getting any attention, you should realize that you're guilty of exactly what you're whining about.

Exactly. It's mind-boggling how many people drop a song in here expecting rave reviews while never commenting on anyone else's stuff. Then they whine that no one listens to their stuff. It's just stupid. You get out of here what you put in.

Well, you got at least one positive (I think) feedback.
Where´s the feedback´s feedback?

Some people live at the end of a one-way, dead-end road...and wonder how they ever got there.

... and they're driving a truck with tandem trailers and wondering how they're ever going to get out. Happened to my brother in law once.

Oh, maybe I missed your point...

After reading RAMI´s post, and taking a look on the "other" thread he posts...

"All originals, I need some ears to tell me what they honestly think of the unmastered mix (not the song or the music)."

(again, not music or song)

Well, maybe I said "good things" about the song and music...?Any problem/?

i'm not real big on country, but this ones worth a listen, very nice! I'm also a newbie, about 4 years recording, but your mix sounds really good to me. I also have a song with out allot of reply.

Whining?

I need to offer apologies to anyone who thought I was whining or putting down on users of this forum- that was not my intention... As far as reviewing anyone else's material, I have not done that as I am new to the mixing clinic- so guilty as charged. I feel we have gotten off on the wrong foot, and for that I am sorry. Actually, if you do a little research, the whole posting music thing is very very new to me. My myspace page has had music on it for maybe three weeks? I created it in December and have just recently had a chance to do something about it- mostly my effort to promote our new studio, which opens April 4th. Look at my posting activity, you will see I have spent a great deal of time and effort working on my studio- it totally consumes me. I was hoping to be a greater presence in the mixing clinic, and given a chance- I will. I hope that months later we can all laugh about my warm welcome to the "clinic".

I don't have much constructive criticism for your work but I think you're definitely talented. I'm listening with cheap headphones so I cannot speak much for the mix but overall I think it sounds pretty good.
