7string, I'd second Dogman's Hawaii reference. Makes me want to take my shoes off and wade out in the white water. I'm too afraid of sharks to go out further.

Tim

I lived in Hawaii for 3 1/2 years and in all that time I only went in the water twice (three times if you count one military dive). Once in Honolulu on Waikiki beach. The only other time was body surfing up north of the Blow Hole and I fought that current for over an hour just to get back to shore. Never went in after that except for the military dive.

That's a weird reference though. I wasn't going for a surf feel at all. Guess I missed. ;)

Well Dogman, you can tell from a dog's eyes if they're smart, and you definitely are. But how the hell do you type on the computer with paws?

He must record using a PAW station. :)

Well, all I can say is that our subconscious influences are a strong thing.

Tim

Are we ready for part III????

My arm is strong enough to record a simple, but fairly driving bass line for Dogman's song. If we are ready, I can have it up in a few days. It's a detuned C# ditty reminescent of Sabbath. I think you guys will like it.

Oh, and Jeff... 3 more days and I will have something GREAT for you!

Are you kidding? I was married for 20 years, I don't have a subconcious anymore. ;)

If I remember correctly I *did* have to pee really bad during those takes...

I'll put my tracks where my mouth is! ;)

And if you can reach that far, that must be one hell of an arm. You are talking about your arm, right?

For me, it was probably the tone, combined with the slide and vibrato. Reminds me of The Blue Hawaiians. Christmas on Big Island. Similar tones. Very cool, and interesting guitar.

Not so much Davey Allan or Dick Dale. Just more slide/vibrato than anyone else used.

Just a shameless excuse to post one of the kids.

And the PAW station. I like it. Actually, not having fingers may help my playing. HHHMMM....

Some jazzy, surf rock stuff. Almost a Chris Issacks vibe. Reminds me of some stuff I heard at a wedding in Hawaaii. Pretty cool.
Ed

Guess I should have used my 7-string instead of the acoustic. I may have played that wedding in Hawaii. When was it?

The whole rhythm track had a Chris Isaaks feel. That slow, mellow thing going on. It's been compared to Fleetmac Wood but my first impression was Isaaks too. That big song that he had who's title escapes me right now.

Wicked Games! That's it! I win! ahhahahahahaha.... oh... sorry... ;)

Hurry with part III before I start writing lyrics for this one minute piece. :p

Write some lyrics. That would be cool. Make it about really cool guitar solos, and the chicks you get from playing them. I have a lovely wife, and that's why my solos aren't very good anymore. Yeah, thats the ticket. Yeah.....

It'd be kinda nice if all the entries could be posted to the same place. It's kind of a pain to go through the thread to find them all.

Good playing, Insightnsound. I like the figures you used in the middle and ending sections, and the slap reverb that's on them.

Very melodic. I liked it. Follows the rythum well. And Nice tone.
Ed

Thanks, I was tearing down walls in my kitchen and started humming little parts. I ran upstairs to get it recorded before forgetting what I was messing around with in my head.

Hey, thanks reshp1. I just looked at the viewer stats for this thread and it's getting up near 2000. I'm sure the list will be appreciated by everybody checking in.
