Rick, you're being an asshole. An honest asshole, perhaps, but an asshole nonetheless. You have a bunch of chips on your shoulder and your desire to rip on someone just because you don't believe something totally inconsequential as how much of their gear they bought shows your pathetic superficiality for what it is.
I'd rather be an HONEST asshole than a lieing sack of shit anyday Noisedude. Of course, by what I've seen in the last year, I've come to the conclusion this is the tip of the iceberg for this generation.

But lets set this record straight drummerdude666 . YOU posted the picture first YOU claimed you worked "soooo hard" for what was in the pictures. YOU didn't bother telling people it wasn't all YOUR gear that YOU worked "soooo hard" for...so who's being the dick, hmmmmmmmmmm. So when Noisedude claims to remember you as a member whose family members play....THEN.. I called you on it. THEN ...you set the facts straight. I NEVER said you didn't earn the money for your drums dude. I said you weren't honest from the beginning. Really, I don't give a flying fuck. But frankly..take a lesson in truthfullness sometime instead of drums. It' take you a lot farther. And if you think this is "inconsequential" as Noisedude put it..you're in worse shape than I thought. But maybe this is standard practice for your generation. Too bad.

Let's stop this.

Ok, lets just see...I posted saying how worked 'soooo hard'; and to clear thing up, when i said that i was talking about the recording gear i've bought; and i realise that's my mistake and i'm sorry for the confusion. Although i sure you have pieces in your studio that dont belong to you that you've borrowed from friends. But either way, I wasnt expecting to be jumped on and called a lier.

To clear things up, the things that dont belong to me in the pictures i posted -
6 out of the 8 guitars. (the rest belong to my family)
6 out of the 8 amps. (the rest belong to family/band members)
Thats it....

I worked for the recording gear, and I did work sooo hard for it.

This is a list of items I have bought with money i've earnt myself. No gifts, no loans, just hard graft.

Yamaha 01X
Soundcraft Spirit E8
Oktava MK-012-01 (pair)
MXL 992
sm57 (pair)
sm58
Cheapo set of Drum mics.
Stands and Leads
Headphones
Cubase SX 2
Sibalius 2
8 piece Pearl ELX with 12 sabian/ziljian cymbals
Pair of mission moniters with amp.
Tanglewood Acoustic
Shapleywood acoustic (not shown in pic)
Line 6 Variux
Pod XT Pro

I dont know who who think you are to sterotype a whole generation; and i pity you if you think so little of people in this world. If you notice you're the one whos insulted me and offended me ... I haven't offended you once. (or sworn for that matter)

I'd like people to take note how i'll mannered and rude my generation are...

I am not a lier, and i will stand up for myself and defend myself if i am called one. Now i want to end this. I'm not here to start fights or argue. I want to learn and help other people if i can. So RICK FITZPATRICK... lets just forget this and put it down do misunderstanding and not hi-jack this thread more than it already has been. Can we agree on that?

Come one guys give the Drummerdude777 a break. He's off the street enjoying the samething we all do. The are a lot of young men that I would love to see doing whats he's doing.

I've got a 17 yr old nefew whos got all the musical talent in the world and left a great home and dropped out of school in the 11th grade so he could party and now lives on the street at 17. It breaks my heart to see him go down that road. I'm just praying that he'll wake up soon.

Do your neighbors have any kids? I'd hate to see how you treat them.

As much as you want to deny it.. you really throw the image out that you have something against everyone under 30.

I worked for the recording gear, and I did work sooo hard for it.
Cool, I respect that. No doubt everyone here did too.
hen i said that i was talking about the recording gear i've bought; and i realise that's my mistake and i'm sorry for the confusion.
Ok thats fair, so let me admit right now, its my mistake for carrying this as far as I did. Please accept MY apology also. too.
Although i sure you have pieces in your studio that dont belong to you that you've borrowed from friends.
Actually, no, I don't. As you put it, I worked soooooo hard for ALL of it.
But either way, I wasnt expecting to be jumped on and called a lier.
It wouldn't have come to that had certain individuals pushed my buttons. Regardless, you were willing to let everyone believe everything in the pictures was gained by your hard work. Which is neither here nor there actually. But knowing from experience how long it takes for one to earn how much it takes to purchase everything in those pictures, I had to question it, lest someone believed in a 16 yr olds fantasy.
I dont know who who think you are to sterotype a whole generation;
Hey, I stereo type anything I damn well please as long as what I see in my life substantiates it. You haven't got a fucking clue to what I've witnessed nor delt with in my life in regards to your generation. Had I not respected the law, a few of your generation would NOT be alive to remember it. Try this one on for size son. Ten or eleven BOYS around 14 to 17 years of age jumped my son behind my home in a park one night and almost killed him and his best friend with beer bottles and knifes. If it hadn't been for his friend escaping and waking me up, he would be fucking dead. Fortunately, I keep a shotgun handy because experience has shown me I HAVE TOO NOW. One of those boys won't forget me though. He'll wear my riflebutt scars for life now. And you know what. I hope he NEVER forgets me. Had I been able to, I'd SKINNED HIM ALIVE   So don't lecture me about your fucking generation. I've had TWO cars stolen, my studio trashed, my home vandalized, my shop broken into and $3500 worth of tools stolen, my step daughter AND grandaughter raped. AND my wife pushed around in a parking lot, and a pistol pointed at her untill my neighbor came out with a rifle. In MY OWN BACKYARD. ALL by your fucking generation. I've seen your generation do so many things in Sacramento California it makes me sick to my stomach. So EXCUSE ME while I puke. If thats not enough to stereotype and characterize a given set of human beings, I suggest you walk around Sacramento some night. You might learn something. That is if the youth gangs don't fucking kill you.
and i pity you if you think so little of people in this world.
See my last statement
I'd like people to take note how i'll mannered and rude my generation are...
What a massive understatement..thats funny.
I am not a lier, and i will stand up for myself and defend myself if i am called one.
I'll let
your first post speak for itself. Those that perpetrated crimes against me and my family defended themself in court too. I hope they learned their lesson i.
'm not here to start fights or argue. I want to learn.
Thats good. Beats being in a street gang. Of which I'm sure you are aware there are PLENTY of.
So RICK FITZPATRICK... lets just forget this and put it down do misunderstanding and not hi-jack this thread more than it already has been. Can we agree on that?
No prob. Good luck with your studio. Keep up the good work, and keep holding up for your generation. You just might convince somebody by your own behavior. But not by what I saw here. I'm done too.
fitZ

Glad it's sorted

 I guess there's no convincing you hey? lol.

I realise that you've gone though a lot and i can see why you might hate 'my generation' ... but i guess all i can say is that not everybody is like that, please remeber that.

But lets back to looking at peoples studios and drooling! :D

Wow Rick, I knew you were pompous, arrogant and verbose, but I didn't know you were imbecilic, bigotted and frankly rather cretinous too. That's special.

Ignoring the facts that you "pressed" your own "buttons", that you know absolutely nothing about this 16 year-old lad living the other side of the world from you, that you are claiming a right to judgement with no permission recourse and that no-one could care less whether you feel some anonymous forum user is 'lying' or not, it strikes me that you rather enjoy the sound of your thoughts more than anybody else here does.

There's no generational divide here, only a divide between one self-absorbed moron and a group of enthusiastic hobbyists. Deal with it or don't, I couldn't care less. You're pathetic either way.

Now if I get back to topic ... I just posted a pic of my revised studio space yesterday in another thread, but I'll see if I can get a better one for in here ... as you know, I'm useless a camera. :)

I hope you aren't expecting great things ... I'd kill for one of those Yamaha interfaces ...

I put a little pic in the rep point thread ... it's a very long thread so here's the link to the attachment:
https://homerecording.com/bbs/attachment.php?attachmentid=17079

Proper pics to follow once I have this place tidied. Bought some hooks to hang blankets and or rockwool from the ceiling ...

Mate, the 01x rocks, but i wish i hadn't bought it now.

Constant problems. It's running on Yamaha new mLan system (one firewire cable does it all, midi audio, interface) and it works, but the faders dont always respond to whats onscreen whcihc they're meant to, there are random clicks and pops in my mixes sometimes and the screen a faders dont always updates themselves when I'm telling them to. When it works...wow. When it doesn't....It is very very fustrating.

Wow, that's tough. I want to head down the route of real mixers (my next one will be the new Malcolm Toft one based on the old Trident 80B) but it makes it more expensive. Separates always will be, I guess.

Problem is, when you stop living with your folks you don't have spare money any more. I remember being 16 and when I earned £200, that was £200 I could spend on gear. Now I have rent, bills and a car to run that get first dibs. :D

Sorry ... just reminiscing cos it's my BIRTHDAY and all ... :D

Pick up a Tascam FW-1884. You can find them B-stock at AMS for $1000.00 which is a steal. I've had mine for a few months and have had 0 problems.

Yup, peak of my earing power my parents keep telling me, and i guess they're right.

As much as i complain about the 01x, I do love it. When i does work it feels so good. The service Yamaha is giving me is excellent and eny problem i have i can call this technicians personal mobile and he'll help me, where ever he he :D

So most of the problems get fixed..but a few keep coming back again and again!

Noisedude..................................Happy birthday mate!
