So to inform me and anyone else reading this thread, please post on what electric guitar you use, which cords, which amp/cab, what pick size/brand, and how you record your electric guitar (micing the cab or direct in), if you use plugins what plugins do you use?

I'm sure everyone would be interested including me.

Wow! Way too many questions for one post. Most people here have several guitars/amps, and use what's appropriate for what they're trying to achieve. If you're more specific, you'll get much better replies. If you post a clip, list what you have for gear, and what you are trying to accomplish, that's a good start.

Guitar: Warrior Isabella (not sure exactly which model because I got it used). Beautiful guitar; I use it in everything.

Amp: Fender Supersonic (one of the newer 60 watt combos, which isn't as noisy as the older ones). This is currently the only amp I record with. I wish I had a bigger selection, but amps are expensive and when I have extra money it usually goes towards other recording gear. The supersonic is versatile though, so I can get all kinds of sounds out of it. Pedals help too.

Picks: Depends. My favorite picks are the Dunlop jazz sharps (the really small ones with a turtle on it). They just feel great and have a nice texture to them. Sometimes if I want a more subdued sound for rhythm guitar, I use a felt pick.

Mics: SM57 and a ribbon mic.

Plugins: I don't usually record direct for guitar, but sometimes I do if I want a completely different sound. Amplitube is okay (the mic placement simulation is nice); I mostly like their Orange sims. I also have an old Plexi sim from Native Instruments which can actually sound pretty cool. Besides that, I just use EQ and maybe some compression depending on the part.

I was just curious what other people like to use, I mean I'm completely new to this forum stuff and just trying to start conversations and trying to be interested.

I eat a lot of beans and greens because my instrument is my ass and those things give me gas. I am the reigning champion for the last 5 years in the epic and eventful competition of the Fart-A-Thon : Ass of Thunder challenge.

Welcome aboard. Unlike many others here my recording setup is pretty modest. For an interface I've got these.M1Active 320 USB My DAW is REAPER. I've got a cheap 8ch. board that I don't use much, a couple of presonis tube preamps,PreSonus | TubePRE and a few assorted mic's. 4 DI's, 2 each active and passive. Nothing fancy here. I've got some low powered amps, and different guitars to choose from. I keep most of it setup in an extra bedroom. It's not much, but it's a long way from what I started with.

Add to conversations;
don't strike up conversations just to talk unless you are pretty sure the ground hasn't already been covered.
