Lead guitar through bass amp

Can I play lead guitar through a bass amp?

A lot of guitarist use tube bass heads. Most bass cabs should be ok. Maybe not an Acme Low B2... unless its well broken in.

I would HIGHLY disagree with that. A black faced Bassman head into a 2 x 12 cabinet makes a fantastic amp setup for classic rock, etc. No...metal heads wouldn't go for it, but crank that puppy up for some natural "grit", and it is really nice.

I guess you have never plugged into a twin and had it on 10 and still sparkly clean, eh?? just kidding of course, but I would consider that amp much less flexible than a bassman combo, albeit, a twin is a fantastic amp too.

My Uncle plays guitar through a Mesa Boogie 400+ bass head with some pedals infront of it and it sounds incredible, especially for lead.

Yes, as I explained above, it was a joke, as I'm guessing was dragonworks' original post (he's a kidder). The bassman is a great amp and is a classic for rock guitar...which is why I said it. It's called sarcasm. Look into it.
