This is EXACTly the business model that I envisioned for music online! Consumers get control and lower prices, while the labels get the decision to control what gets put out. AND the labels/artists/songwriters get PAID!!!

After reading some more, I take it back. The service limits total royalties to a fixed sum... $1,000,000 per month. That's retarded. In a free market, such as ours, there should be no limit to the total money paid out. If an artist's music earns X amount of $'s in downloads (= "fan interest"), then they should get X amound of $$$, without respect to the stats of another artists.
