I`m looking at these krk6 moniters do I need to buy 2? Musicians friends add for them has them priced as each and I don`t get why?? I do need two right?

Yeah, I never get why stores sell them as individuals, unless that's the way they're packaged... but yeah, if you want to listen in stereo, you'll need two.

I just had a couple of KRK RP6G2 monitors delivered a couple of days ago. They are are individually packaged, but I reckon the reason that retailers advertise the price of a single is that the apparently cheaper price catches the eye.

Pricing them singly also allows you to build a custom surround system - you can buy 5/7 monitors of your choice.

That's for all those that only have one ear :D

Unless you mix in mono. :laughings:
In all seriousness, I've just bought some nearfield monitors and in the 'course of my research', I came across a few that were sold singly. I think Paulie Jay is right. The Rokits come with a good reputation and they ain't cheap but when you see the price for one, you think "Wow ! Gotta go for 'those', it's too good to pass this up..." coz it seems like it's for a pair.
Then reality asserts it's ugly head............

Yeah I think they're mainly designed that way to do 5.0 and 7.0 setups. Also, hey, if you want to mix on mono, go for it!

There's another obvious reason why they sell monitors individually- so you can replace one when it blows or gets trashed. I had a cat (damn, I'm going to miss her) who leaped up onto one of my monitors, bringing it crashing down-kaput. I was damned glad I didn't have to buy 2 to replace it.-Richie

Richard............ is that cat in kitty heaven now?

OK, I was just kidding, but she did get a new name-"Glove liner".
