Perhaps you'd like to share your success story that outshines Lenny's accomplishments?

Why does a comment like this always get thrown out when someone expresses a negative opinion about someone rich and famous? I know your comment was not directed at me, and I'm sure you mean "musical" success ('cause like many here, I could list my accomplishments that would probably whoop Lenny's ass in the more important areas of life successes). But there's one thing I DO know. Although I chose a different vocation to be successful at, I may seem bold, but MY songwriting is better than Lenny's. I'm just not the personality type to have sought the limelight, adulation (or excessive wealth). I'm happy. Some people like Lenny a lot. That's their opinion. I think he is mediocre at best as a songwriter/musician. JMO.Buck62 said:Perhaps you'd like to share your success story that outshines Lenny's accomplishments?

If you're smarter than Donald Trump, you would've understood what I said -- but you didn't. One can be rich (not just monitarily) and significant without being in the spotlight and amassing billions of dollars. I'll match yourBuck62 said:Funny you should say that, because I'm smarter and and have better business sense than Donald Trump, but I choose to remain poor and insignificant because I don't like being in the spotlight and having to worry about the billions of dollars I've amassed. I mean, who needs those kind of headaches, right?![]()

I was given a copy of Baptism by a friend who didn't like it. He is one of those people that just buy Cd's for the songs they play on the radio so he didn't get the rest of the album. I think it's well produced (it actually has some dynamics and an analog feel) and diverse yet still has some commercial success. I think that speaks volumes considering a lot of other crap that's getting airplay. Plus, he played all the instruments.

You call that diatribe a "raise"? You didn't even "call" me, pal. Whatever. By the way, a lazy guy doesn't build his own log house. I could go on and on.......but, 'nuff said. Reply if you want -- I won't.Buck62 said:Okay, I'll see yourand raise you one more.
Lenny Kravitz played for years and years before he became famous and got tons of radio airplay. He used a stage name of Romeo Blue and was basically ignored by the big-shots at the major labels. But he stayed in the game despite the odds being against his ever making it big. He improved his songwriting and his guitar playing, his vocals, and became an accomplished sound engineer. Finally, after several years of "paying his dues" his hard work paid off in the form of a big record deal, radio airplay and the fame that goes with being a big rock star.
You, on the other hand, write better songs and play guitar better.... or so you say. Yet, you choose to do it at your own pace and by your own rules, enjoying limited, local success that is enough to keep you satisfied.
What can we deduce from this?
You're lazy. You don't have enough confidence in your songs or playing ability to go out there and conquer the world with them. You have no tenacity. You talk a good game, but can't actually play it.
Then you have the nerve to talk about how mediocre Lenny is????
If you were that much better of a performer, as you claim, then you should do something about crappy players like Lenny Kravitz. You should go out and land a big record deal and show us all how much better you and your music can be than all those no-talent hacks out there like Lenny Kravitz.
If you won't do that, maybe you should refrain from trashing musicians who worked their asses off and sacrificed everything to become famous. I agree that a person can be rich without having lots of money. But if you were so "rich" and happy in your little world, why do you need to slam someone who has worked 100 times harder than you to attain his fame and fortune?
Lastly.... okay, so you're more talented than Lenny, right?
Who do you think supermodels and actresses are going to be more attracted to... you or Lenny?
