Knowing that people use the smiley EQ setting

Wouldn't you mix with a reverse smile (frown) EQ setting to compensate if you were going down the everybody does road?
& NO NO NO NO - you may as well mix for MP3 & take away all the good sounds to replace them with generic ROCK, JAZZ, "NORMAL" etc settings & then how will you begin to deal with MEGA bass & Doof Doof sounds systems in tiny motor cars?

That stuff doesn't have a lot of mid range instruments in it. That's what would be effected most by the smiley

That may well be the problem with smile eq setting. I previously jumbled up the mid range with various synths, and effects. I now attempt to limit the amount of synths, though sometimes i can't help myself lol.

I don't think I have ever heard anybody who uses smiley EQ actually listen to anything at a low volume.

Hi SSG....been a while....hope you're well mate.

Guys, I just took a look at the 'master eq section' on my board, and sure enough - I must be a dweeb!!

Honestly, I 'tweak'/set those graphic faders without even looking at them, and that's what I always seem to end up with....a somewhat conservative, but unmistakeable smiley face... :)

Infact, during any mixdown, I rarely have my eyes open....that's a nice thing about physical desks, no matter how expensive/inexpensive!

Anyway, I'm very happy with the tone I seem to create...

Good forum!!!

Kindest Regards...
Superspit.
