keyboard equal of "guitar rig" ?

hey folks, i'm thinking of changing my recording setup. just now i'm using a korg tr 61 which has some fantastic sounds but i do like the setup of my "guitar rig 4" programme for editing etc..

basically i was wondering if anyone could recommend some programmes that work in the same way, instead of guitar though obviously be using a keyboard.

i'm new to midi

If I understand rightly, what you're asking for are are just VST instruments.

Do you have a DAW (digital audio workstation) like Cubase, Sonar, etc. or are you just using Guitar Rig standalone?

As far as I know, there are plenty of VST instruments that work standalone but you will want to make sure. There's many that have a whole selection of very good quality patches, but specific styled ones tend to sound slightly better.

What sounds are you looking for? www.soundsonline.com seems to be the standard place to go

Not sure what you want here...I take it some way to edit and effect whats already in the korg through your PC?

I use Midi Quest with my Pod and JV....it edits all their parimeters but is pretty complicated for the JV and Ive never fully got to terms with it

I do "re-amp" synths through guitar soft amps as it gives them more air and effects that work on guitars generally work on keys

I also record my keys through Ableton Live as an external instrument with a midi interface...you can use Lives midi and audio effects on the signal pretty easily...an m audio midisport is a cheap way of connecting everything up and is usb..plus it means you can use the Korg as a midi controller for your software instruments

Hmmm, I'll assume that you meant, what would be the synth equilavent to guitar rig? Such as, has sooooo much editing, processing etc. capabilities. And the answer can be found here: http://www.native-instruments.com But to be a little more specific FM8 and Absynth are a few of their amazing vsts, and if you'd like to get really deep look into Reaktor.
