i just got the ad50 for 330 after tax at guitar center,
so i have limited funds, but im thinking of buying the olp bass at guitar center in a few days if i can come up with the dough
then a bass amp.
Nice score! I think you'll be happy with the AD50. Is the OLP bass that cheap knockoff of the MusicMan bass? If so, then I think you'll really like that, too. If it even captures 90% of the tone of a real MusicMan, then it'll sound very nice, indeed.
There is a real problem with recommending a bass amp for you, though. Since you're just starting out, you haven't had a chance yet to determine what kind of bass sound you are shooting for. The main reason that I tried to direct you away from the Behringer bass amp is that I've seen one, and it looked so flimsy that I don't think it would hold up very long. I recommend that you look at used amps to get the maximum bang for your buck. Stick with the major names, the ones that have a reputation for reliability, such as Fender, Peavey & Gallien Kreuger. These are also brands that are sold in sufficient quantity that you are likely to find a used one at a decent price. Just try several of them out and see what sounds good to you. That would be the best advice that I have for you.
