hopefully that works. if not, here are some highlights.
the guitar itself plays wonderfully. it was almost perfectly set up out of the box. as soon as i got it i brought it to a luthier who goes to my church and he was very impressed by the quality of build and set up.
the guitar plays very easily and while not that much thinner than a true les paul, it does take a significant weight off of my shoulders. the belly cut is much appreciated as well as i've only really played strats before this and am used to the feel of the strat cut.
the pickups are good. not great, but good. they may be replaced eventually as they are a little hot and not as dynamic as i would like. dont get me wrong, these things can produce some great sounds, but some of GFS's other pickups have that little something that pushes them over the edge of "meh".
the neck is slick and easy to play, no problems there. the fretboard was very dry when it arrived and had this black factory gunk on it when it came. it all came off with some lemon oil and elbow grease though. the blems, as you can see, are pretty much unnoticeable. i couldn't even catch them on the camera.
i'm very very very happy with this guitar and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of transferring from strat style guitars to humbucker style guitars.
edit: i forgot to mention that the case is amazing for the price. if you are ordering a guitar from jay at GFS def. get a case along with it, even if it is just for shipping protection.
