As a very, very new person to home recording, I was very much confused to what needed to be done, learnt and mastered. I'm by no means anywhere near an expert after a week in total learning and absorbing all there is to know.

A simple message, the people who continually advise and help those people like me, who know so little but want to learn, those people who help and guide - you are priceless and to be thanked by all those people like me. I've learnt more, from a remote part of Australia thru this message board than I would have in many months of trying on my own.

Please don't ever under estimate the help you give.

Thanks a huge amount........

Let me be the first to say that your are very welcome! It's nice to know that through all the flaming and name-calling that someone appreciates the help they get here. I was the same way when I first came here. And I've always been able to find help when I needed it.

Thank you!

this site is awesome. I just wish some people could find it before they started working on stuff. I have seen a lot of money go down the drain becasue of what a salesman a guitar center said, and its kinda painful to watch.

Aahhh... truer words were never spoken John M. Burns. You guys who take the time to post your thoughts and experience for all us newbies are to be commended. Hats off to you................

Peace.........Kel

I agree 100% I am starting out adn i hav learned alot adn now i am starting to be able to help people

I think that most of the folks here understand that they didn't get where they are without getting a hand from somebody along the line, so they also appreciate the importance of remembering to turn around and offer a hand to those who follow. :)

The ones who aren't helpful usually have their own agendas, so take them with an appropriately large grain of salt.
;)

I'd be even more lost then I already am without this site. I have learned a ton of information from here. Great Job ladies and gents!! The site is very valuable!!

Kudos ;)

Hey!!!!..I appreciate you guys.. :D ...........

I even like the FLAMING.... :p ......Ohhhhh, I must be a real sick puppy.... :o

Thirty years ago I used to do a lot of home recording. It was all done on tape recorders back then. It was low tech. and simple to understand and operate and produced good results.
I got interested in recording myself again about 6 months ago....... and quickly discovered we're now in the digital age, AND I WAS LOST!
These forums ( plus a few others elsewhere ) educated me quite quickly and I've been able to make informed choices based on my personal needs.
I now record with a Fostex VF80 digital recorder/CD burner, in true stereo using 2 Studio Projects B1 mics and I couldn't be happier with the recorded tone I'm getting. I got great deals on my recording equipment, so for a very minimal $ outlay I've achieved very good results and get a very clean, clear sound.
