Hi, I just got my VF08 today. I didn't know too much about it, but it seems to be in fine working order. Now, here are the specs, 20, 480 mbs, so that is about 20 gig right...and the firmware is 2.13, so that must be almost the latest one by the website.
Now, I want to set it up properly. Should I get the scsi card for later connections? If so, what CDR drive can it record or burn to, there must be another one besides that Plextor one, but will wait on your expertise.
Also, I have a Tascam TMD1000 digital mixer, would it be better to just use the analog inputs or go spdif digital in, looks like you can only record on tracks 7 and 8 that way...is there a way to record on more than 2 tracks at once if you have that setup. Finally, inform me of any quick tips and tricks I might need to get up and running, thanks so much, Psongman

Hey

I have the vfo8 also. I dont know about the scsi card because
I dont have one in mine. But I do know that you can only record
TWO tracks simultaneously. if you had a mixer, that would give
you the ability to record a set of drums or something or if you wanted to make a live recording. You could plug your mics or
whatever into the channels on the mixer and run the mixer into
the two imputs on the vfo8 and select two tracks to record on. This would be the method if say you wanted to record a drum set.
But im absolutly sure that you can only record 2 tracks at once
on the vfo8. If you plan to recored real drums you will need to do this.

hope this helps Branded

if you want to here a track recorded on the vfo8 download it here
