You can't beat them.

I find when I turn my Marshall up to 10 which I can't really bear my self that my wife is down bitching about it in less than 60 seconds.
However with the VJs I can go a good 30 minutes before it occurs.
And if I'm a real gentlemen and close my studio doors I can go all night :D

Are you talking about the Valve jr or Viagra? I guess either one would keep your wife from bitching. :D

Unfortunately I'm talking about the Valve Junior ;)

Regarding purchasing a blem from MF I bought a blem keyboard amp from them once that came in 3 pieces. When they say blem they mean it.

Yeah Buck...but for $100 more...you could have that johnny winter "still alive and well" sound at very low volumes.
Go on and get the valve junior to go with that firebird...you know you want to. ;)

The problem is that I'd have to get a new speaker cabinet, too.

My Vox has a closed back design with no way to plug in an external amp head.

Looks like this one will have to wait (at least another week or two). :D

Hey Buck ........ I play on an Epi Firebird although it's the 3 pickup model. I think it's a little more expensive although the wifey bought it for me so I don't know what she paid.

Sure do wish I had one of the three real ones I've owned back. :(

LT, I just noticed your holding a sax in your avatar looks like an alto.
What kind or kinds do you play.
My wife has an old vintage Buffet Crampon Paris alto
She also a Chinese soprano which she is wanting to
replace with a real one. I can't believe the price of
thoses little things. For what they want for a top of
the line Selmer I could have a couple more high end
Martins.

lol .. yeah they're high for sure. I think the alto I play is around $5,000. Iy is an alto .... Selmer Super Action 80 Paris.
I play any of them of course but since I double on guitar and bass I just bring the alto. Haven't had my tenor out of the case in years.
The biggest reason I like the alto is that it's loud and cuts thru loud bands. Much better than a tenor in that regard ...... actually make that much much MUCH better! :D
Back in Baton Rouge I probably played more guitar than sax but here in Florida it's 80% sax. And some bass gigs too .... but not nearly as many guitar gigs.
At least I'm playin'
:)

I really like Buffets .... the absolute best bari I everplayed was a Buffet and the best soprano I ever played was also a Buffet. Dead in tune ..... really nice horns.

I know you'll think I'm crazy for asking

but does anyone know of a power-soak/brake/whateveryoucallit that would work well with this unit? I want to be able to use it and get the full-blown overdrive, but at a whisper. Is this possible? I don't mean to record it at a whisper, I just want to be able to play it that way. Also,do they make anything that can take a line level off of a speaker out?

Thanks

I really like the mass idea.

??????????

Are you saying that sounds like a good idea?

Sorry, I never know when someone's being serious anymore.

I figure you guys are going to think I'm nuts for wanting to put a power soak on an already low-wattage amp. But one guy's idea of quiet and someone else's idea of quiet can be way different things. I want to make it so that it's not just low enough not to be annoying, but it's low enough not to be heard a couple of rooms away. And yeah, I can just use a modeler, but, oh well, I can't explain it...

Anyway, has anyone ever used a Weber Mini Mass?
