I just got a line 6 POD UX2 Studio that came with POD farm, Reason, and RiffWorks. It works with headphones on and I can record using RiffWorks but I want to use Acid Pro to record. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? I get no signal at all with Acid Pro when trying to record with the POD. when recording with my mixer and Acid Pro there's no problems at all. The UX2 came with no manual and the line 6 website provided me no help. Thanks

Yeah, neither of the manuals provided me any help. According to them "all you do is plug it right in and hit record". I think you're right about doing something with ACID in order for it to recognize the interface. I've been looking for hours and there isn't anything even remotely close to "recording using an interface". When recording with my mixer using ACID there were no problems at all, same with a computer mic. Oh well, might have to return it. I refuse to use "RiffWorks" as my recording software.

Riffworks is a proprietary Line6 software that recognizes your Pod when connected to your computer. That's why it works.

Acid does not "see" your UX2 as an interface until you activate a special Line 6 plug-in license. You can purchase the Line 6 Plugin from their homepage which allows you to gain access to the Pod as a software plugin from within Acid. Only way it works.

You could use a separate soundcard/interface and connect the UX2 audio outs to it, but the plugin is about $50.

I'm using Acid Pro 4.0. I did get it to recognize the UX2 and I set it to my "MIDI record device" but I still get no signal. If I really have to buy something extra just to record with it this thing is definitely going back. I looked on the Line 6 website and looked at all of the upgrades and what not you can buy. All they have to offer are "packs" with different effects.

The VST Plugin is listed there also.

Line 6 is good for giving you little pieces of the pie at a very cheap price. They get you hooked, and then show you all the extras.

I agree they do tend to sucker people in with cheap prices then nail them with all of the extras and software after they buy it... but I don't think that's the problem in my case. I should have everything to record already. On Line 6 Monkey it tells me everything I have and don't have. I have the drivers, USB Firmware, FX Junkie, GearBox, Pod Farm, and Line 6 Monkey. Is that not enough? The only things I don't have are the packs with different amp modules (or so it says). If I didn't have something I needed to record wouldn't they be pushing their product on me? I can't even find whatever I need in order to record on the website OR the software. Thank you for all of the help I'm just REALLY trying to get this thing to work out before i return it.

The reason for that being... I have a small mixer a friend gave to me that id hook up my Vox amplifier and record with. I'm in a band and its kind of a hassle to lug my amp (with pedals and chords) around from gig, to practice, to home (especially since we gig and practice quite often). It would be a lot easier to have an all in one package (the UX2) at home, and just leave my gear at our practice space where everything else is anyway. Just the reasoning behind my desperation to get this thing working. If anyone knows anything comparable to the UX2 or something that would work for my situation feel free to let me know.

It still seems like you should be able to use the device as an interface, even if you're not using the amp sims and f/x. But like I said, I have zero experience w/ Line6 stuff.

For some reason I have an aversion to software w/ GUIs that try to look like hardware. The Line6 stuff supposedly sounds great tho', so I'm probably missing out.

WRT a guitar interface for the home recordist, I have really enjoyed using the now discontinued, and widely reviled M-Audio Black Box. I like it so much I bought a spare when they were blowing them out.

I use the UX2 with Reaper, no problemos..just select the UX2 as your device in Acid and possibly in the Windows Control Panel..

Alright, so I got it working with the audio option (not MIDI) but there's some latency. If it's not one thing its another with this thing...

Latency - in Sonar you have a "latency offset" that you can adjust to compensate. Try finding one of those....
