Being obsessed with older equipment as I am, I keep wondering if there's any good reason for me to pick up a DAT deck.
I know that DAT has been superseded by other technologies, so is there any reason why one should have a DAT these days? That is, if you're not a mastering studio, and you don't run a pressing plant...

...but here again I won't be doing this - even though it SEEMS that the thing will run forever (we're on 18(?) years w/o service) I suppose I'll only use it when I need it and be happy it works then.
