I am big fan of Junior Brown. I never read any post about his music and would like to tune you guys on to his guitar playing if you don't already know of him. He is with out a doubt one of the best ever. Before you cast pr-judgement because he is country music, keep in mind that he is REAL country music before all of the over comercialized to sell radio adds stuff came about. Junior plays a double neck guitar that is half tele and half steel and can play everthing from Johny Cash to Hendrix to Hank Williams to Led Zeplin to Bob Wills from Buddy Holly to surf and everything in between. Check out the track "Hung UP" from the CD "Semi Crazy" and I think you'll become a convert yourself. This guy can real tear it up. Catching his live show IS A MUST for all guitar players.....let me know what you thimk

I agree wholeheartedly

He's also a superb songwriter...and a good actor -- he was in an episode of the X-Files a coupla years ago... I'm amazed he's not more of a star, but then, look at the stars we get these days...

I saw him on "Austin City Limits" a couple years ago and he did a medley at the end where he went from "Pipeline" to "Purple Haze" and it was really cute.Definately a talented dude.Speaking of talent, you ever seen Jeff Healey live?Amazing. He makes you wonder if having eyesight isn'ta liability.

I'm always looking for new music to buy and I have seen Junior from time to time on TV. I agree the guy can play! And is that his wife that plays acoustic with him? So if you have any Junior Brown albums, which would you recomend? I think that might be cool to slide him inbetween Boston and Badlands in my CD collection.

Sorrry for the slow responce Top Jimmy, I've been out of town. My favorite Juinor Brown cd is Semi Crazy, I have all of his cds and another good one is Guit With It. One cd has Jimmy Vaughn one some of the cuts but I can't think of which one right now.

Junior Brown is one of the greats out there.
He doen't really fit into any category, though.
He's kinda like the Frank Zappa of country music.
But what a major talent that man is!

His coolest song title? "She's venom wearin' Denim"

While we're promoting our favorite pickers, I'd like to nominate Steve Morse and Andy Timmons. If you haven't heard their stuff, Steve Morse "High Tension Wires" and Andy Timmons latest "The Spoken And The Unspoken" are both INCREDIBLE.

Junior packs a mean, clean wallop and his low vocal drawl is always right on time.

My vote for the koolest Junior Brown song title is:
"Your Wanted By The Police and My Wife Thinks You're Dead"
