I've got a big problem.

Alright, so I just got a Lexicon Omega USB Interface,
and I have a AKG Perception 200 that I'm trying to use with it through XLR. I have a Shure KSM27, too. But, yeah, they're both condensers. And when I record, there's no sound being picked up at all. I don't know the problem.

My computer's an Extensa 5420-5687, too. Vista.

I've turned up the output, the mic volume, everything. I dunno' the problem.
Anyone know what's up?

those mics need phantom power.

make sure phantom power is turned on. might be a switch.. it would say +48v or something similar.

yeah, I tried that, too.
it's pretty ridiculous how it isn't working.
like, an interface can be used as a stand-alone piece of equipment right?
or do I need to connect it to a preamp or mixer?

Do you have the phantom power turned on on the Lexicon?

What sofware are you recording to?

Do you have the lexicon selected as the input device/soundcard in the software recording program

oh, and I'm recording it to Cubase since that was the software it came with.
and I'll check to see if I have it set as the input soundcard.

When you turn on the phantom power, have you given it a few seconds to
get going?

Also, have you turned up the mic gain as far as it can go?

Try a different XLR lead.

Make sure that the input on your interface isn't set to Line or DI or something.

Is your track in cubase record armed?

Actually, I hooked my old Shure SM58 up to it and recorded in Cool Edit,
and it actually worked. But, I really want my other microphones to work.
And yeah, I've given it a while to actually get going and they just wouldn't power up.
