Ahh. I found a link to an MP3 of the Tad Morose song, Anubis:

the riff isnt really similar. its kinda the same rythem, but in a COMPLETLEY different setting. i dont think ill be getting sued any time soon

i used a couple of patchs from Atmosphere for the synth. theres some great sounds on that program.

Sounds cool and sounds like you did put alot of time into it.
Although you need to do something about those guitars. The drums are samples yeah? or MIDI? There are parts where the heavy guitar hides alto of the other hi end instruments like the lead guitar and keyboard synths. You should try and cut out some los on the hi instruments and boost them and pan them so they are more easily heard.

Very impresive song. Is there one bit that ever repeats! sounds technical, good stuff.
Dynamics are a little flat at times although i do like the build at 6:30 roughly then the guitar rif is sick.

...

I gave the ditty a good listen today in the car. Very great playing; obviously a lot of time went into the programming, playing, sequencing, mixing, etc. There's some parts where the guitars and the bass lines are so dead on, it sounds tighter than tight. I dig the drums for the most part.

Constructive criticisms (I'm not very good at this part; I always feel like an ass, but here'goes. I figured if you worked on it that long, I should at least give some lengthy comments):

The only thing I didn't like about the drums was the over-use of the snare + crash cymbol. It's all over the place. I'd only put it during the climax part or parts. I like hearing them during blow out endings, but otherwise, I dig a nice snare + hi hat or snare + ride for normal parts of the song.

I did think that many of the solos were too "blurry." Perhaps the EQ wasn't changed much from the rhythm guitars? I like to have a completely different amp setup (and sometimes amp) for solo/harmony guitars. Makes them really jump to a different area in the mix. The solos are a little to low in the mix for my tastes as well. I'd love to hear them louder.

If I were a producer, I'd tell you I'd like to hear you go off more on the solos. It sounds like you stick in a very safe zone of being in key and musically correct (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm no pro musician). Go nuts! Step outside the key a little with some passing notes or weird scale patterns. Do you use diminished stuff much, or more modal playing? There's points when every instrument is just too...in harmony. Get some tension in there with some dissonance.

Regarding the song structure/length: there's points where it seems that the song goes off in la la land just for the sake of it. There's one walk up type part near the end that walks up forever - after like 2 I was wanting the walk up to get where it was going. It would seem you could condense the song down to half the time, toss out riffs you don't absolutely love, and get a nice consice blow to the gut.

Regarding the lack of vox: it's a tricky thing not having vocals. The song could use a nice set of pipes going off over the killer riffage. With the vocals will come the hook, and will make people want to keep coming back to the song for more. I understand if you're not a vocalist. Maybe there's someone around you know that could do it?

wow, thanks for the great comments, some great advice in there.
your constructive criticism is excellent :)

thats probably my lack of drumming experiance. i dont drum at all so i was just giving it my best shot.
