Issue With Bricasti Level

According to the manual, you feed a signal into the unit, set the input level -6dB, then set the output level to -16dB.
This should leave the volume control at 12 o'clock, thereafter.

When I use this method, the knob has to be at 4 or 5 o'clock to get the same level.

Has anyone had a similar issue setting up this unit?

How do you know you are inputting -6dB? And I assume you mean -6dBu and not -6dBV or -6dBm!
Pedantic old fart you might consider me but "GIGO"! Technical level notation is important.

Dave.

Front panel LED's show this.
I'm now thinking this set-up does not require the knob to have the same level at the 12 o'clock position, but allow for gain from the unit to not cause overloading of the signal.

The unit is just doing a balancing act then? what is causing the loss of gain, you know. Was it always like that? I don't know any 'Brick' owners. It sounds suspicious. That much recovery being necessary.

My buddy Davy, he only buys Schecter Research and Blackstar. So he is basically lost. I aint got one. Ronnie sure doesnt.
