Is this a joke?

personally i'd say the price is a joke (even if it's serious). that and the fact that EVH's guitar wasn't a fender, if i read correctly.

other than that, the point of a replica would be being exact. i'm not one to want copies of people's guitars, but if i was, i'd want an exact copy, that's the whole appeal, ain't it? ;)

the best "true" replica would be for someone to build one out of spare parts :D

Looks like a few other sites sell them as well, so it must be serious.

Looks like 300 hardcore Eddie Van Halen fans will be happy anyway.

Hopefully it comes with a case you can put it in, I wouldnt want anyone to have to look at it, or admit that it was in my house.

Shouldn't it ship with a purple spandex jump suit, white sweat bands, and a jean jacket with the arms cut off?

I've seen one in person, it was sort of impressive, and anticlimatic at the same time.

I can see EVH fans really digging this, as it's probably the Holy Grail of all EVH collectables.

But... fast forward 30 years.... will it then be worth even more than the $25,000 investment?

You can get some really nice vintage guitars for well under $25,000, that are sure to increase in value. What are the chances of a replica like this increasing in value?

I looked at the picture and I'm pretty sure the pickup won't fall out as long as there's strings on the guitar.

It's the type of thing that will be purchased by someone who has never played a guitar, does not currently play guitar, and will never learn to play guitar.

I've never met a musician who buys a $25k historical replica. I'm sure they exist, but I've never met one. It would be interesting to see a 1 paragraph biography on each of the people who buy these things.

I'm sure it'll keep Eddie nice and snug in some big*ss Hollywood villa.

And let's be honest, anyone who buys something like this deserves the rip off.

Eddie's going: "Damn right, I'm getting paid!" or more likely: "Zo, ik ga met pensioen!"

Well your probably right... one of the reviewers said he only bought it to hang on his wall. (He owns a record label in New York).

I glued a bike reflector to my epiphone sheraton case.
Now I have to increase the price at least five hundred dollars, and
pay evh a royalty, and I didn't even want to sell it in the first place.

sheesh, you can't do nothin' these days.

TWANG

I don't care how much money you have, you'd be better off with a guitar than that thing.
