Hi there,

Does anybody know if there is a good product to switch between two passive monitors (post amplifier)?

In other words, I want to have two sets of monitors and be able to easily switch between them without unpluging and repluging.

thanks!

Well, you need a speaker switch. I bought one awhile ago, cost me $80 or so, for switching between 4 speaker sets. Kind of a ripoff price. The big problem is finding a switch that can handle 12AWG wire. - with a cheapo $80 switch, I'd recommend turning off your poweramp between switchs or you will get a nice pop.

I bet there are better products out there now though.

Well, I don't use it anymore. I was switching between a pair of NS10's, paradigm's and a large set of Energy's.

Which Paridigms did you have. I have a set of the Mini Mark IV's. I picked up a set of Yorkville YSM-1's that blows them away.

Still have the paradigms, sound great - these are the smallest set from the "monitor" series.

When I was messing around with my band in a "professional" studio, the engineer had a switch that could switch between NS10's, old Hi-Fi speakers on the wall, and a cheapass mono speaker on top of the board. That way, he could get all environments.
