Does anyone have any advice regarding collaborating on recordings over the net? I'm trying to work with Cakewalk, sending files back and forth with a friend in another city, but Cakewalk stores each digital audio track as a .wav file, with no option for (for example) mp3 compression. Our first effort, three tracks and under two minutes, was over 30 megs.

Is there a better way to go about this?

Browse the internet and look for a .wav to mp3 converter. Then when you send it to your friend he can convert the mp3 to a .wav file and work on it. Mp3's are alot smaller. But make sure to convert always above 192kbps, anything below that rate will have a poorer sound quality.
