No, in this case the mixer is the interface... Provided you install any necessary drivers, you just plug it in via USB and hit record! I believe it also comes with Cubase if you dont already have a recording program.
The multimix 8 usb ONLY sends the stereo mix down the usb pipe. NO individual tracks! It is NOT an 8 channel interface, it's a 2 channel interface. If you want the 8 channel interface, you need the firewire version.

Yeah, you can send 2 indiv. mono tracks with the xenyx, you just pan one 100% left and the other 100% right. Drums will be the only tough thing, youre gonna have to get the mix right during tracking cuz you won't be able to adjust it much later. Unless youre using ezdrummer or something,
