Speaking of Keaggy...

In the vein of alternate tunings, I have never been a fan of the capo, but I was reading how this dude will use two at once. He will cut specific notches in the higher capo to allow certain strings to ring uneffected.

some people use 2 capos for 3 strings each, but at different places on the neck. whack eh? plus you have the 3rd hand capo which only capos the strings you specify.. similar to the keaggy method, but not as permanent.

Yes, and so does Pierre Bensusan! I love alternate tunings. I got 2 acoustic guitars and neither one has seen standard tuning in over a month. Plus it helps when someone wants to pick up your baby and strum a few chords. All you gotta say is "Well, it's not in standard tuning" and that stops them right in their tracks (usually).

I think My Wave was done in BBBAAA or something like that. Another fav of mine Kim did was like CGDGBE if i rememebr, used it on Limo Wreck.....nice and heavy 8)

DADDAD (3rd and 4th strings are exactly the same note) used for
Suite Judy Blue Eyes ans 4+20 by Stephen Stills)
EADDAE (same thing, but my partner, Maureen Fleming got it wrong and then wrote the song anyway)-Richie

Hey, Richard - Didn't know you were from Framingham. All these Northeast types coming out of the woodwork.. .Cool!

i'd love to hear any tunes you've written in those tunings. I've written about 3 in DADDAD. It's a kick ass tuning. you can't really get lost note wise. It's also great for emulating banjo rolls.

I like to use EAEABE. It's very happy!
Treeline, you need to come to Cape Cod this summer and play. :D
