What is instrument definition file?
Do I need this file in my computer sequencer to properly interact with my keyboard?
Can I create this file in any sequencer or are they available in the net?

Being a newbie myself, I'm not exactly sure how best to answer your question. If you tell us what keyboard and what software you are using it might help, because it's a different answer for different people.

When I use a Yamaha Motif I.D.F. with a software sequencer, the software knows what the voice-bank layout is, so it's not required but it is very handy. Usually the software vendor can help with this issue.
