My Band recorded the instrumentals live in a local studio 2 weeks ago. Since then we have tracked vocals and mixed. I would love some feeback on my mixes as the more hands the merrier! :D

That was actually an idea I had! Some falsetto harmonies a la early weezer would have sounded real nice on the chorus. None of the members could pull it off though. BTW here is the final product: Primate House

Love it man and ya'll keep up the good work and I hope lots of success with the release of your music :guitar:

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Once the hard copies are in we will start sending it to labels, blogs, college radio, and sell it at shows and hope for the best!

1st track definitely had me thinking weezer almost immediately. Good job. I like the guitar tones a lot myself...kind of dark, but in a good way. I thought the drums were a bit buried at times, but they sound cool from what I could hear.

Damnit! My post didn't get posted earlier. The chain for the rhythm guitar was jazzmaster>rat>blues jr>sm57 definitely kinda dark. The lead was a steve morse>dynadrive>mesa v-twin>stereo chorus>Marshall DSL40C>SM57. Solos were doubles with a blues jr and a d112. I tried to automate the drums in some parts on the final version. Hopefully that helped. The drummer definitely gets quite funky! :D

Is this the stuff that was recorded at the cult place? Sounds really good to me. The production really matches the indie-style music. I'm not crazy about the vocal processing/effect, but it's not bad. I just don't like that style. I love the drums and guitars. And that cover art is pure awesome. Well done, good luck with the EP. :)

Thanks Greg! It was indeed recorded at the cult. I was going for an Albini type sound with the production. I see what you mean with the double tracking. I try not to go overboard and use it in a way that only us HRers will notice. I just realized the disk I burned last night and submitted to kunaki has weird glitches during the fade out in 3 of the 5 tracks. Now I gotta do some work in a crunch.

Hey, I just listened to Daydream. I like the style of the track. The vocals sound a bit kermit the frog at times (i'm listening on laptop speakers) I like the lead guitar stuff but at times it sounds a little too much on top of the mix. Again, it could be the laptop speakers. I'll try to remember to check out the other songs later on a proper stereo.
