IN and Out in Protools

My input 1 and Out Left in M box 2 stopped working, can record only input 2 and listen from the right monitor.What can be the problem? thank you

check the I/O setup? If not get a replacement unit.

turns out my input1 was set to DI instead of mic...

Also, lately I've been having trouble inserting plugins and do basic routing for aux input. In order for this to work I need to make several tracks inactive. What can I do to fix this since I need all my tracks in the mixing stage?
