I've often discouraged the use of "survival of the fittest" which was alluded to earlier. It simply doesn't make sense. If a whale eats 20% of the krill in a group, are the other 80% the fittest, or the luckiest? If survival of the fittest was the rule, the human race would never have made it! lol
 
I'd agree that luck sometimes helps in the survival sweepstakes! LOL!

That depends on how many whales there are. If there are 500 whales, and one of them eats 20% of the krill, that leaves the remaining 80% to be spread between 499 other whales. That 20% eater will be the baddest of the bunch.
 
As off topic as it's possible to be !

Interesting how animals in the wild outside the jurisdiction of human "care" don't seem to put on excess weight......
 
That's true, although I'm sure many of them don't eat as much as they'd like to.
 
Anyone seen the documentary, Blackfish, on Netflix? It's about Killer Whales. Pretty good doc.
 
I do too. I read in the news that they're supposed to be stopping that shit at the Sea Worlds in CA. There is no history of Killer Whales ever killing a human in the wild. They are totally emasculated once they're put in captivity. Their dorsal fins don't even stand up straight.
