ok ok so i went to my local music shop and bought my 1st condenser mic for 299$. got home and started to hook it up to my my mixer i was looking for my phantom power button wen i to my surpries i realized I DONT HAVE ONE!

well the place where i got it from has a 24 hour return rule and by the time i got home the place was already closed. and i couldnt take it back today cause i couldnt find the time.
so i tried to pull out some of my old 4 tracks and see if maybe somthing would happen but none of my multi tracks have phantom i thought that maybe my fostex x-55 would but no it didnt
i dont kno im kinda depressed now cause i jus threw away my money............i think im gonna choke my self with the mic cord tonight anyone have an idea?

So, go back to the store and buy a phantom power supply. Many companies make them, Audio Technica makes a little one channel pack that list prices at about $60 and you can find it on sale for a lot less.
Or invest in another mixer than provides power to your mics.
You will probably be buying other condenser mics in the future...probably a lot more.

I would invest in a preamp because it will supply +48 phantom power, function as a direct box for bass guitar, make your dynamic mics sound great, etc.

If you think a mic-pre is too much money and even the audio-technica supply is a bit too rich for your blood then theres a phantom power supply called "LEEM PHW-22" that goes for like 40$. AND its got two channels for when you bought yourself a pair!
(it also goes under other brand names as they are sister companies or something)

A little off topic, but, I once bought a dodge truck. Great truck for a killer price. I drove it for the winter and summer soon came. One day it was hot, so I turned on the air conditioning and no cold air. I lifted the hood to find that this model did not come with it!! I NEVER thought to ask because most cars and trucks these days (the 90s) have it standard. Doh!!!! You lost nothing 'cause your fix is cheap. Buy a pre-amp and get the phantom supply free. The pre-amp will do alot for your sound.

thanks

hey thanks for all your help guys i really apreciate it i guess im gonna go withthe pre amp. Gidge, i bought a cad m-37 is that good?

yo

oh im sry i ment to say 199 but if the list is only 159 then i still got ripped off and im not happy so im gonna tack it back for store credit i guess

nl, that's supposed to be a very nice sounding microphone.
Get a shockmount as part of your store credit because
the M37 is very sensitive to low end frequencies.
