I'm over it

a spoonfull weighs a ton
my DAW setup that is...

I'm so tired of:
Having to run NT to use my dual processors

Vegas somewhat.

The Delta 1010 control panel.

all those little chirps that get into my wave files. thats just nasty.

having to restart the computer after it freezes building the peaks in the wave files.

getting a blue screen when I'm trying to record.

setting up the delta control panel again after any of this happens.

that in the Delta control panel, you can't pan anything exactly center. grrr.....

my power supply fan- wheever I startup after it's been off more than five minutes, the thing sounds like a twin engine plane. somtimes it quiets down after 5 finutes, somtimes it will take a day....

when I'm playing back a track and it locks up and goes into this infinite loop..... dd..dd..dd..dd..dd..d..d..d..d.d.d..d.d.d

that fact that none of this will hapen for a week or 2, then it all happens in one day, every five minutes. (like today)

gah!

I don't want to give up the 1010, but the rest HAS to go. I'm going ASIO, probably Cubase, maybe n-track, running 2000 and I'm gettin a new mobo and processor.. hmm... well, when I can afford it that is. :D till then... I'll be here giving the finger to my monitor.

damn, dude, sorry to hear about all this...but it makes me glad Im running on a crappy ass HP Pavillion with a 500mhz Celeron with Windoze 98 and N-Track....I cant get shit for plugins, maybe 5 total, but it runs stable......

hope you get up and running soon......

I feel your pain James. I wish over and over again I never sold my 8 track.

BUT.

Computer recording does work well, once you have it set up right.

Like that helps much eh?

Really though. If your machine is locking up all the time there is something wrong. (Isn't that obvious).

I thought you were using Nuendo?

I get those infinite loop lockups too.

Save often for sure.

Think of it as a tape jam. Or the end of the reel :)

Eh... It's not so bad...

My computer was just having a bad hair day.

Untill I can spring for an upgrade, I need to rethink my configuration. It's just a little hairy dual booting NT and 98. The instalation in itself is complicated as hell. Unforntunatly, it looks like it's time for a clean install. But I'm so afraid! lol. took me three days to get it together last time! doh! and I can't even remember how I did it... ok time to look through the archives. The biggest pain is the different file systems, so i have to throw in a few 2GB FAT16 partitions, just in case I have to move something around to work on it... man oh man. NOt that my computer sucks or anything it's just way to complicated to get it to it's optimum. Then it all goes to crap a few months later... :D Just got a new mic today too, so it's fitting that nothing works quite right. :)

thanks for the support guys, and Emeric, I like that new avatar of yours. Mine needs a change for sure.

You can pan dead center with either the mouse wheel or the arrow keys. Hope that makes you feel a little better ;)

Maybe it's the software from that disc you haven't sent me yet. Seriously.
