Ha! Bass sounds awesome...isn't it like a squire or something? You mic a bass cab with a '57? I figured it was DI...anyway it sounds great throughout.
I like the backing vocals a lot on this.
Drums are crazy good. I think I hear the sizzle of the overheads more now (not that you changed anything - just me listening for it) but it sound good with a nice wash behind the whole thing.
What kind of snare is that...wood...metal? That has a '57 on it too, right? Sounds great. Most of that sound coming from the OHs? It's got crack, but it has body too. Nice. Sorry for all the questions...sounds great. I think there's a lot of energy in this beyond what you normally bring to the table. Good, frenetic energy.
Thanks dude.

Yeah it's a Squire P-bass into an Ampeg combo with a 57 right up on the grill. Nothing fancy.
The snare is a 14x6 Ludwig Supraphonic. It's a newer model, so it's made of that Ludalloy stuff. It's basically an aluminum alloy with chrome plating. It's got a Remo Powerstroke 3 batter and a Remo Ambassador Hazy reso with 30-strand Puresound wires. And yeah it's got a 57 on it. I'd say that my drum sound is probably half overhead/half close mic. Just the overhead tracks sound terrible, and just the close mic'd tracks sound terrible, but together they sound okay.

I'm not too happy with my drumming on this one. My cymbal work is especially shoddy. I hit some crashes hard, and barely tap other ones. Didn't play the ride well. I'm inconsistent on the hats. But fuck it. It's good enough.
