MADE OF SANDALWOOD
Man, I'm thinking about buying another Epiphone LP Limited Edition. $350, a pretty good deal. I don't know. Should I? Definitely will be playing it before putting any money into it.
Here she be

Not bad. Not bad.

Kinda reminds me of one of these though. :D

So this is "another one?" You already have one? Is this guitar #2 for gigging or some such. If that's the case then you already know that its good for the money.

If you're just collecting just becuase... I'd pass and get something more collectable.

I can honestly say that's the first time I've ever seen a baby blue les paul. :p

How's it play and sound?

Nothing wrong with any Epiphones I've played. I find that just by changing the pickups (if you need to) and putting a good set of strings on there, they play very well.

I think what's most important is the build quality and how easy it is to play. You can always change out everything else if you want.

I dig the baby blue color.

This is gonna be Epi LP Limited Edition #2. First one, I love dearly. Put some GFS hot alnicos in it and it plays/sounds beautifully. Only red flag so far is I asked for serial number and he censored some of the digits, so I'll have to talk to the dude face to face to try and use my ultrajudgeofcharactermeter. Would hate to be getting a guitar this cool that's stolen. But, we'll see. I'm interested in seeing how it plays and sounds, hopefully will find out tomorrow.

And, this guitar would definitely be for gigging. Using a real Gibson SG and the other Epiphone right now. No harm in having a backup backup, right?

epiphone lp

i have a epi les paul deluxe i gig w/ a lot .... i changed the knobs... thats it everything else is perfect .... those mimi's cut through like a switch blade..... anyway i love it ... and will buy another ;)

Is that picture deceiving or

are those baby humbuckers?????

And I know what you mean

because I keep buying cheapies instead the good stuff.

But I finally realized that I should buy what I like. When I play the expensive stuff, I usually find that I really don't like it as much as I thought I would, or as much as I think I should.

Unless you're in a position whaere you know that you have to be able to get a pretty big chunk of what you pay for things back later, buy what you like.

Who's the guitar for? You? Then don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

Yeah, the humbuckers are minis. I decided not to do it. The serial number thing really freaked me out and I'm not a fan of playing stolen gear (after getting my whole drumset stolen). There were a few other things that really just got me uneasy about the dude. Guess I'll head to Guitar Center to see what they have. Sigh.

Isn't there

a website somewhere that has stolen gear serial #s? I thought I read something about this a while back.

If it weren't for the serial number thing, I'd buy it! Don't care for the blue, but I want some baby 'buckers, and I've never seen them on an Epi, at least not ones that haven't been surgically implanted.

It was actually listed on Craigslist. I've just never seen an instance in legit gear where someone wouldn't show the whole serial number when asked. Hell, even people on eBay list the whole serial number in their auctions. Just doesn't make sense.

Epi's are great

Don't hesitate to pull the trigger on that one...

Someone left some rep saying they don't show all of the serial number because it's "not smart," anyone wanna shed some light on why this would be? I don't see any harm in it since it's basically the only means of identification.

I've bought and sold guitars long distance via internet before. You've got to have the serial number in some cases to validate authenticity. With all the knock off stuff on the market, who wouldn't be cautious. I mean, what if you were in a position to see the guitar up front and in person, would he still obscure the serial number  . Smells fishy. That's like selling a car but not letting you see the VIN...wouldn't that be a little odd?

Yeah, I'm interested in hearing the answer to this one too.

Who said that? Did they not sign their rep?

Nope, didn't sign it. Just said it wasn't smart without explanation.

before you buy another epi les paul, try a dean cadillac select, i finally broke down and bought one and i will be honest, it plays as well as some of the les pauls i have owned (actual gibson) it has the feel and tone of a les paul, with a diff look, has quilted maple cap on a mahogany body and set mahogany neck, great guitar and the price is very hard to beat

A guitar with the name Cadillac... don't know about that... I'll try to find one to play today

EDIT: Ehhhh, just found a pic. Way too reminiscent of an Iceman. I can't stand that design. Will still try to play one today but it's just one of those designs that I can't help but despise for some reason.
